My kids are enthralled with this new computer game. ItzaBitza is a clever computer game that incorporates your children’s own drawings into the fun. Don’t be fooled by the hokey graphics, this game is a total win with my kids. They fight over whose turn it is to create a little world of their own, and the game has gotten superb accolades from the best in the business. Your child helps the characters {aka Sketchies} by providing them with “new…

road trip through napa valley, California
On our way from Lake Berryessa to San Francisco we drove through Napa, and yes it really is that beautiful. We don’t drink so it didn’t hold quite the luster it might have for you connoisseurs of wine, but the drive is gorgeous. I hear the right time of year is in the Fall when the grapes are all out in their glory. It probably smells amazing then too. But it was absolutely perfect for us in June. Next time…

houseboating in napa valley.
We started out our three week adventure down the coast of California with a bit of a *bump* but now we’re well on our way and having the time of our lives. Our first stop after Reno {which I’m not counting; we were there less than 8 hrs.} was Lake Berryessa in Napa Valley, California. I had no idea there even was a lake in Napa before this vacation, but there is and it’s beautiful. Lake Berryessa has apparently been…

cookie magazine.
I’m loving my latest issue of Cookie Magazine. In fact, I love every issue of Cookie. It’s the perfect mixture of practical parenting advice, cool gear, and hip ideas. I don’t feel like a fuddy duddy reading it, more like a hipster who happens to be a parent. A great idea to keep the mounds of kid artwork accumulating in your home. A circle themed birthday party for kids. How clever! And chic decorating on a budget. Images here, here,…

summer of fun.
I’ve been a busy girl, a very, very busy girl, and it’s time to tell you what I’ve been up to for the last little while. For starters, I’m now writing for Rocky Mountain Moms Blog, an affiliate of the Silicon Valley Moms Blog. It’s a great place for me to vent my fears and anxieties, and issues about being a parent, openly chastise celebrities, and anything else I care to write about. The writers on all the affiliate sites…

happy mother’s day. To you, and you, and you.
I grabbed this video from Mom It Forward and I’m not ashamed to say it made me cry. Happy Mother’s Day! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9AgAnayRyk]
sunny southern california.
I’m on vacation right now with my family in Southern California. It’s sunny here. Warm too. I was beginning to wonder if sunshine was just a figment of my imagination but as it turns out, no, it’s real enough, you just have to go pretty far south to find it. The whole family is going to head out to the beach today, maybe find some sea glass, collect shells, scream, run in the surf, boogie board, and blow bubbles into…
