The Odysseo Cavalia Horse Show

Have you seen the show, Odysseo Cavalia? If you have, you’ll know the show is far more than just well trained horses parading around on stage.  It’s a spectacular mix of magical horsemanship, beautiful animals, circus acts, goose-bump-inducing dancing, and live music.

Have you heard of Cavalia?  We went as a family to see it last weekend and were mesmerized, top to bottom, by the whole production.  Even my jaded teenager held her mouth agape throughout the entire show.

I hadn’t heard of Odysseo until some huge white top tents were erected in a mall parking lot a few months ago.  We’re huge horse fans over here, so I was excited to hear more about the big tops and the show happening inside.

It’s tricky to even explain Odysseo.  Sitting in the audience as the lights came up for the show, I felt a bit like an excited little small town girl, waiting for the circus to begin.  The show is such a production; with the lights, special effects and set design artistry, impossible physical feats of acrobatics and dancing, live music and singing, and horse tricks.  Part Cirque Du Soleil, part modern dance, part circus, part ballet, part amazing.

We were genuinely wowed by the whole show, eagerly anticipating each mind-blowing segment as one act flowed into another.  The athleticism of the performers was hard to believe, even as we watched them on stage.

If you have the chance to see Odysseo’s Cavalia, make it happen.  The show is worth every penny.  If you’re dying to go see it (and you should be), I have a 10% off discount code for you.

And I have a fun surprise for you!  I’m giving away TWO tickets to the Salt Lake City show before they pack up and leave town.  The last show is June 20th and tickets are selling out fast.

Here are the details of the giveaway:

The coolest show that have ever seen…probably my first concert up at Wolf Mountain back awhile ago. The Steve Miller Band! I bought a cool t-shirt with their new logo of a white horse on it, and wore it all my first year of college

The coolest concert I’ve been to seeing Garth Brooks years ago. Recently I’ve started to take my daughter to Disney on Ice when they come into town so it’s been really fun to go with her to those.

Oh man!! I love Arabian horses so so soooo much!! I’ve wanted to go to this show since they started putting those tents up– but my boyfriend told me the tickets were too expensive. I even saw an ad for it IN a Denzel Washington movie— and I was like “what???! This is a literal sign!! We have to go!!!!” But, alas– I just spent my dollars going to see Beyoncé… Which was incredible. But I still love horses!! Pick me!!

  10. Lori Van Wagoner :

My little 7 year old is so excited to see this show. I’d love to take her. My favorite concert of all time was Flogging Molly on St Patrick’s day at House of Blues in Vegas. Man o man…it was a party!

  11. Catherine Fuimaono :

My favorite concert was my very first one in 5th grade. My parents had bought themselves and my two brothers tickets to Billy Joel and Elton John. One brother got sick so enters baby sister for her first taste of awesome. So so amazing! I have heard great things about this show and would love love love to go. Loved your post on summer bags and hope your baby girl is doing better soon. Zytosales@gmail.com

OH man! I want to win these so bad! My mom has been dreaming of seeing this show for YEARS. She would have already bought tickets and gone, but her dear sister was very ill and she didn’t want to get tickets with so much up in the air. Her sister passed peacefully last week and this week is full of memorial service and family. I know seeing this show would be such a special thing for her and I would love to surprise her after such a hard spring.
Also, the coolest circus show I’ve ever been to was an Australian human circus I saw in NYC years and years ago. They were amazing acrobats and comedians and I remember being in a constant state of wonder and belly laughing the entire time.

  15. Clisty Borzoni :

    This is an easy one.
    16 years ago in Vegas.
    O
I’ve seen several Cirque du Soleil shows before and since this one. But for some reason this was my favorite. I was in town early for a convention, by myself. At the time I had 3 kids under 4. Surely that had something to do with it? I had an incredible view where I could see the goings-on under the water and the side stage.
One of those experiences you want all of your favorite people to experience.

Best show? I have been to so many over the years, but Erasure in 2014 was life-changing. Dancing at Capitol Theatre to the songs of my youth was fantastic! I would love to take my almost 14 yr old daughter to Cavalia, what a great summer birthday present! rachi626@hotmail.com

Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. Kim :

The only way I would be able to see Cavalia is if I win free tickets! I must win! I have only been to one concert in my life- dont judge- U2’s Zoo tour, about 18 years ago and I loved it!

  22. Donna :

Steady Rain in NYC with Daniel Craig & Hugh Jackman. They were great together!

  23. Danielle Toomer :

The coolest show I’ve ever been to was Dave Matthews in Vegas back when I was a teenager…it was amazing as my first show! Still love them too. I’ve been wanting to see Cavalia so bad!!!

  24. Tristan Moore :

Seeing Cirque du Soleil’s Quidam under the big top in NYC years ago was a life-changing experience. From what I’ve seen of the previews of Odysseo, this show is stunningly beautiful in its own right.
