Are you shopping for the holidays yet? I know I’m jumping the gun a little bit, but it’s never too early to be prepared is it? That’s the Boy Scout motto and everything, so let’s all get prepared together and be shopping scouts on our A-game. I believe in us, you guys, I really do.
I traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to participate in the first AYA Summit hosted by ONE.org in Google’s offices in D.C. It was a meeting of the minds, to discuss what’s being done about global issues affecting girls and women, issues we need to be working on, because the solutions are really simple. I’ll get into all that later, because I have so much exciting stuff to share with you, ways you can get involved to actually make a difference. For real.
But before we jump into that, I need to share some shopping 4-1-1 that’s about to expire.
Have you heard of fashionABLE? It’s an organization aimed at fighting endemic poverty by creating jobs for women in Africa, which empowers them to break the cycle of crippling poverty, violence, sex trafficking, and a host of other issues.
So basically,
you buy cool stuff –> women in Africa have jobs —> empowerment = AWESOME
fashionABLE sells gorgeous stylish scarves and accessories made by women in Africa, you end up with pretty things, knowing they were sustainably made and purchased, and everyone wins.
This week fashionABLE is having a big, fat sale. The biggest. I
maybe, probably, totally did a lot of Christmas shopping yesterday. And a lot of it was for myself. <—- selfish #sorrynotsorry
Read the commitment from fashionABLE,
“Your purchase of a fashionABLE product creates sustainable business in Africa. We are committed to long-term solutions to fighting poverty, and our main focus is creating opportunities for vulnerable women. That means that your purchase creates jobs, so that the women are not dependent upon charity, but instead are a vital part of a developing economy.”
I have a special 10% off code for YOU to use while you shop fashionABLE. Go buy some stuff, help empower women, get shopping done early. EVERYBODY WINS.
