It feels like a million o’clock and I’m just posting for the day.  Is it a million o’clock yet? Can I go to bed anytime soon?

I’ve had a few ideas up my sleeve for a while for party outfits.  So much fun to think about the zillions of possibilities for holiday party wear.  Is it a super fancy holiday party?  Whip out some sequins!  Casual?  Go crazy and throw on some peep toe pumps.

I really like those pants from the Gap. I might just have to buy me some…

    • Petit Elefant :

      They’re pretty foxy, right?

I don’t work and husband doesn’t have holiday parties (stupid health department) but my friend had a party last week at her house, just casual. I wore my wide leg black pants from the Gap, a Loft long-sleeve black shirt (yep, t-shirt and regular pants!) but fancied it up with a cute gray & black scarf from target–I even watched your “how to wear a scarf” before we left–and my killer peep-toes from piperlime. Not too bad, but nothing fancy. I wish I had a fancy party to go to.

    • Petit Elefant :

We have zero parties in our future, outside of our annual church party which just isn’t fancy at all.

I did put on some sparkly jewelry for a friend party I hosted though, that counts for something.

NICE JOB on the scarf & the peep toes, that’s my girl!

my hubby is a construction foreman and this year for holiday party they decided to go a little more casual than we have in past years, so it’s karaoke at a local restaurant/bar. My husband told me he told his boss he is dressing like a lumberjack (inside joke I assume?) and I’m to dress like a lumberjack’s wife. I’m like, “I’m sorry… WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!”
I’m indulging him a little … I’ll wear dark denim leggings from Reitmans, I’ll see if I can find a cute tunic-length dressy top in a plaid, and I’ll wear my cute tall boots with fur on the top. Plus some shinies and a one month old baby girl dressed in something sweet. You can’t really go wrong when you’re wearing a baby girl dressed in something toothache-inducing.

The best part is that my husband honest to gravy wants to go shopping so he can have a nice new plaid shirt to wear. My hero.

    • Petit Elefant :

He’s my hero too. My husband just sassed himself up with two new flannel plaid shirts.

      *sigh*

In my dreams I live in Manhattan and my husband wears suits from D&G.

    I suddenly feel 17 again.

    • Allison :

Oh no! In a bad way? Please tell me not in a bad way…..

  5. Kristen :

I wear black pumps, skinny jeans, and a tuxedo jacket pretty much any time we have a “grown-up” event. It’s my party uniform.

    • Allison :

That is a GREAT party uniform. I can totally see it, actually. And I think I need a tuxedo jacket posthaste.

    • Allison :

I’m waiting, face perched in hands, on my chair.

Those tights made the outfit complete.
