I love it! I can’t believe how great it looks. Do you think it would work if I’m wearing contacts, or should I do this before I put my contacts in?
I’m wearing my contacts in this video, which is probably why I keep my eyes closed for like 15 seconds when I blink. I say before, otherwise you’ll have a hard time getting them in without getting eyeliner on them.
I know my eye doctor tells me to always put eye make up on *after* my contacts are in, so definitely already be wearing them.
Okay so my VERY first thought when I read the post title was Plumbing? Seriously plumbing? Why would you even need to LINE your water lines and what the heck do you do it with?… Um never mind I get it now and think I’ll try it. How would it look with navy liner?
Dina, I know less about plumbing than I know about rocket science. I leave all that nonsense to my husband.

I love it! My mom used to do this with her eyes in the early 90’s, so I followed her example. Time marched on and I’ll admit that I kinda forgot about this. I tried it again today after watching your video (awesomeness) and I think it may become a normal thing for me again. Thanks for the reminder and the fun video how-to.

Sometimes I feel like it makes my eyes look smaller. What do you think?
It definitely makes them look smaller, but it defines them in a way regular eyeliner won’t. It’s a total trade off.
I think it looks great, but I worry about the chemicals in the eyeliner being absorbed right into my system.
True, totally true. Anything that goes on your skin gets absorbed though, whether it’s on the water line or not.
I’d try one of the more natural make-up lines like Aveda that uses natural ingredients if you’re worried about it.

I tried this yesterday and my contacts ended up so dirty after an hour I had to take them out and clean them. :( Bummer because my eyes looked good!

Try waterproof eyeliner or eyeshadow instead. Maybe another tutorial….
This will STUN you, but I do this with a green liner (MAC Buried Treasure) or a dark purple. Makes my hazel eyes POP. Then I put on my REI clothing and the effect is lost, but whatevs.

Can you use powder or cream/gel eyeliner? I am horrible with a pencil and only semi-horrible with a brush, moistened if I am using powder.
I did this today, and while I had flashbacks of jr high, it turned out much better than that!
Is it the blinking that gets the liner on your lids or did I miss a step?
