frozen grape snack.

frozen grape

Have you ever frozen grapes for a quick little snack?  Honestly, in the heat of the summer it’s one of the best things out there. Wash your grapes, put them in a gallon Ziploc freezer bag {you know how I love the Ziploc} and pop them in the freezer.  They make little morsels of tasty frozen-ness. If you want to get crazy and take it to a whole new level of yum, soak the grapes in 7-UP, Sprite, or something…

I spent some time outside last night taking pictures of paper lanterns hanging from my trees, and while I looked around at the beautiful summer scenery I thought of all the great things to do on a summer night. Here’s my list of 10 Things to do on a Summer Night: Skinny dip.  Chunky dunk.  Whatever you want to call it get naked and go for a dip.  It’s a very *ahem* liberating feeling. Do It Yourself Kitchen Remodel

remodeled kitchen

Proceed into a kitchen remodel with total caution, sanity, and an intact marriage.  You might, *might* come out with one of the three. We started the kitchen remodel in January of this year, figuring since we were getting new kitchen appliances from Frigidaire we ought to update the kitchen to match.  We’re now seven months into the kitchen remodel project and we still have half an un-tiled floor and no cabinet hardware {read: knobs and pulls}.  I love the way…

helpful laundry tip

stain detergent

My new washer and dryer from Frigidaire showed up a couple of weeks ago, and we’re having a good time getting to know each other.  I’d say we’ll probably be exchanging promise rings by the end of the month. Since I’ve been doing a lot of laundry at my house lately, I thought maybe now would be a good time to share my favorite laundry tip.  It involves Oxi Clean, and elbow grease. Grab a jar big enough to hold…

This video is hysterical.  Harvard Sailing team {a comedy troupe?} did a video of guys pretending to be a group of girls, and I almost wet myself watching.  Great time waster. Happy Weekend!

fun summer drink recipe

This fun summer drink recipe is perfect for the sweltering hot dog-days of summer.  I originally found the recipe in Real Simple magazine and whipped it up with my kids last week.  It’s delicious and easy as pie. I like pie. Ingredients for Sparkling Pineapple Ginger Ale: -12 oz ginger ale -1 1/2 cups pineapple juice -slices of fresh pineapple cut into wedges Measure out your ginger ale and pour it into the pineapple juice, like so. Garnish with pineapple,…

thrifted monopoly!

I am really skilled at Monopoly, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.  Really skilled.  Remember how my parents are kind of hippies?  My family camped every summer for two weeks in random places along the west coast of the United States and I spent a lot of rainy days in Northern California inside our tent trailer wiping the floor with my siblings.  I’m what you call a Monopoly savant.  Girl’s got strategy. I’ve been on the prowl for quite…
