Tech Summer Camps For Kids Apps + Design

Kids can be tricky in the summertime.  Believe me, I’m a work-at-home mom, which means summer is a blessing and a curse.  I love having my kids home more than life itself, but keeping them intellectually challenged and busy 24/7 is a job in and of itself.

We started out the summer with Some Fun Summer Bags for Kids, and a couple weeks ago spent the weekend doing the Kids Adventure Games at Snowbird.  We’ve done an Easy Summer Activity Book DIY, we’ve made an Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, and we’re getting ready to blow up an entire box of fireworks.  But still, the children remain at home most of the time, imploring me to entertain them, as if I am their cruise director.

So I’m doing what any mom in her right mind would do, and I’ve signed them up for day camps.

design camp for kids

My little guy is going to a school day camp wherein he will learn about oceanography for 2 weeks, and my daughter is about to start an app camp for kids, followed by a design camp, where she’ll learn basic graphic design and Adobe Illustrator.  I’m teeming with jealousy.  I would’ve loved to have done either, but I’m especially jealous of my daughter.  I wish I could go back in time and have ME as a parent.

app camp

There are 3 dates for App Camp in July, and two dates for Design Camp, one in July and another in August.  There’s also a Code Camp for your future little coders.  I so wish I had this tech background in my life, I really truly do.  I cannot WAIT for my daughter to start.  The camps are for kids ages 8-18, so there’s a wide range of availability, and kids will be separated into age groups with their peers so they can make like-minded friends.

If you live in, or will be hanging out in, Utah during July and August this is a must do.  Check out more details on the Utah App Camp website, and bonus for you! App Camp is offering 20% off to Petit Elefant readers for camp you sign up for!

Just use code: PETITELEFANT20 at checkout!  Your kids will thank you.
