sugarplum dreams.

Sugarplum Dreams is an adorable store {with a new online presence} featuring impeccable customer service to cater to your every need. Sugarplum offers everything you could ever want in a baby and children’s boutique: special occasion clothing, decor, toys, keepsakes. My personal favorite toy is the Twilight Turtle, a fun little nightlight in the form of a turtle that changes colors between amber, green, and blue. It shuts itself off so you won’t waste battery time, and it casts 8…

fitness magazine 30-day fitness challenge.

Victor got me a subscription to Fitness Magazine last year, and I was a bit chagrined until I opened the cover and started reading. It’s fantastic! I’ve never met an issue I didn’t like, and I’m inspired to be a healthier person every time I read. It’s not one of those fitness magazines, it meets every woman at her level and strives to help her improve. Their most recent issue has a 30-day fitness challenge for women everywhere. 30-days to…

Edith Wharton.

“In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways.” -Edith Wharton, A Backward Glance–

A big fat THANK YOU to Lori for her amazing posts last week. Didn’t she do a terrific job? I can’t wait until I have some time to sit down and use her step-by-step instructions to make a hat, sweater, and baby leg warmers. So cute. composting.

One of my favorite sites, Simple Mom, had a great article today about composting. It’s something I’ve wanted to try for a long time but haven’t really figured out how to make it happen. This article gives a pretty basic, step-by-step guide to making your own compost bin. I’m really going to do this, starting now. I can’t wait, this is going to be a lifesaver to my Summer garden as well as a contribution to the environment. {photo via…

book pick: dairy queen.

Catherine Gilbert Murdock {via Amazon.com} $10.88 I’ve been reading a lot of YA {young adult} literature lately. Lest you think I’m a bear of very little brain, I read a lot {4-5 books a week} and not all of it is YA. Young Adult just happens to be, in my opinion anyway, a hotbed of very very talented authors. My new favorite is Catherine Gilbert Murdock author of my new favorite series, Dairy Queen and The Off Season. The narrator…

Kelly King Anderson, the fantastic woman behind Startup Princess had me over for lunch and an interview last week. She is a complete delight and her company has helped literally thousands of women. I can’t stand to watch it ever again, but I thought I’d share with the rest of you. If you’ve ever wanted to know what I sound like in real life, here I am, in all my glory. inspiration

I often find myself inspired by the fun, creative ideas posted over at OhDeeDo. It’s a great conglomgerate of clever minds and resources. One of their latest posts: cupcake liner garland. They show it displayed in a bedroom, but I’m thinking it’s perfectly suited for birthday parties or baby/bridal showers. And can’t you just visualize it with Valentine-y cupcake papers? So simple, but also a bit charming.
