Cleanse Your Face and Cleanse Your Life

My face has endured a fair amount of abuse in its 37 years on the planet, some of which has even been caused by me. I had gorgeous skin as a child and teenager, and like most gifts, I took it for granted until the day it turned on me in my late 20’s.

It happens all the time.

And now, as a conscientious nearly-40-year-old woman, I’m doing a lot of work not only to cleanse my face, but to cleanse my life as well. I really, truly believe the two go hand-in-hand. Eating good things and living a clean and simple life makes for a good face, from the inside out.

Good face products are pretty key too, so I’m excited to try a 28-day Face Cleanse and share the results with you in a month. Have you ever done this? A lot of us do a nice body cleanse or detox on the regular, but how many of you have ever done a face cleanse? Raise your hands, even though I can’t see you.

I’ll assume you all knew that, because you’re a smart bunch.

But did you know our skin turns over new cells every 28 days? I didn’t, but I do now. And for the next 28 days I’m going to use a full-fledged regimen of Burt’s Bees Renewal Face Care, morning and night along with the other stuff I’m doing to cleanse my life. I’m super excited to see how things go, and to share my cleansed face with you when I’m done in 28 days.

Here are a handful of other things I’m doing to cleanse my life, stuff that for sure makes your body happy from the inside and your skin on the outside:

  • I wake up and go to bed at the same time every day
  • I walk between 2 and 5 miles at least 5 times week
  • I drink 2 – 3 gallons of water per day (for real)
  • I eat healthy, nutritious food and lots of fruits and veggies
  • I read my scriptures / meditate for at least an hour a day
  • I don’t drink alcohol or smoke anything
  • I read lots of books (this makes me happy and happy = healthy)
  • I try to eliminate all possible stress from my life
  • I laugh, smile, and play a lot

What do you do to cleanse your face and cleanse your life? I’d love to hear from you!
