What Makeup To Use For Spring Makeup Looks

Spring makeup is my favorite, and a few weeks ago I showed you a really gorgeous, super easy before and after Spring makeup look on my daughter.  Today I’m sharing the makeup I used to create the look.

Spring makeup look

It really didn’t take too much to create such a gorgeous, fresh Spring makeup look on my daughter, and as with any makeup look, it’s just a matter of using the right products in the right colors to really make your face shine.  In the good way, not the ‘I haven’t discovered blotting papers’ way. That way is just bad.

As a refresher, here’s the before and after of my daughter with no makeup, and then with some pretty spring makeup.

I didn’t use Photoshop to get the ‘after’ makeup look, just some key (quality) makeup products.

Let’s have a look, shall we?

What Makeup To Use For Spring Makeup Looks

  1. Tarte blush + bronzer in Power Couple
  2. Burt’s Bees BB Cream
  3. Burt’s Bees lipstick in Magenta Rush #511 and Iced Iris #510
  4. Benefit High Beam liquid highlighter
  5. Natural Mineral powder foundation in Medium (purchased at Costco in a set)
  6. Naked 3 Urban Decay palette
  7. MAC mineralize blush in Gentle
  8. MAC cream eye shadow in Painterly

Tarte bronzer

This Tarte blush + bronzer duo is so great for light contouring and a pop of bright blush on the apple of the cheeks.

Tarte blush

It lasts foreeeeeeeever because it’s such high quality.  You get what you pay for with this one.

mineral face powder

I’ve had this mineral foundation powder for years and years and love it to top off a makeup look, to set the makeup in place and create a nice little finish.  A little goes a long way, and it feels so light on your skin.  Love it.

I talked a little about these new Burt’s Bees lipsticks in the post with the step by step spring makeup look, so you can check out all the colors there.  These two were just the right shades for my olive-skinned girl.  One for daytime / high school, and the other for a sassy night out with friends.

The BB Cream from Burt’s Bees is so lightweight and creamy, it’s great for just a little light coverage in warmer months.  It just evens out the skin tone and makes everyone feel happier.

Especially me.

Burt's Bees BB Cream

Here’s the true story of this Benefit High Beam face highlighter:  I had a long, boring layover at some random airport somewhere several years ago; Vegas, maybe?  Dallas? I can’t remember. Anyway, I was going a little bonkers waiting for my plane so I walked the terminal and found a makeup vending machine by one of the gates.  It had really lovely brands like Benefit and Too Faced and a bunch of others, and I found myself spending a stupid amount of cash on makeup! From a vending machine!

I don’t regret any of it.  Especially this highlighter.  A few dabs on your skin makes you look like a dewy, sprightly youth who gets just the right amount of sleep at night.

I’ve been a MAC girl for decades (really and truly), and I always have at least one blush of theirs in my collection at any time.  I always have a powder blush for the hot summer months, and a cream blush for the dry winters, but I really use the powder more often than not.  Again, paying more for makeup can sometimes matter – this is one of those times.

If you haven’t ever used an Urban Decay Naked eye-shadow palette, it’s time to talk.  I’ve had this palette for several years, I use it all the time, and can’t seem to make a dent in any of the colors.  The pigments are so high quality they last forever, and the colors are so gorgeous there are legions of devoted women across the globe who won’t wear anything else.

I love, love, LAAAAHFF my Naked palette.  Go get yourself one ASAP-like.  It’s totally worth the price, and the included brush is amazing.

If you have any questions about any of the products I listed, please leave a comment and I’ll try to help you out!  Oh, man I have such a makeup addiction.  And if you’re looking for a day-to-day makeup look, here’s a post with the step-by-step to help you do just that.

So there you have it, my favorite products for a gorgeous Spring makeup look!
