Today I’m feeling all kinds of retrospective. Perhaps it’s because Precocious is back in school and the house is a little more quiet; I have a few minutes to myself here and there to reflect on things. Like life. And how happy I am in mine. How lucky I am to be doing what I love. To have the wonderful friendships I have.
I don’t want to wax too nostalgic, I’ve already cried once this morning and Charming doesn’t know what to do with me.
I’ll leave it at this though, I just found a list I’d tucked away in a book of places I want to travel before I die. I made it when Precocious was a brand new baby. I was in school full-time, and we were living with my parents. I never thought I’d get above ground, never mind across the world. So here’s my travel list, and one of my favorite quotes.
“In spite of illness, in spite even of the
archenemy of sorrow, one can remain alive long
past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid
of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity,
interested in big things, and happy in small ways.”

I’ve got a long way to go, baby.
everywhere, basically. almost the same as my list. thanks for the quote. I love it. I may print it and frame it.
Gee, what's not on the list!?!
Donna,
You don't see Asia. Never really cared to go.
Well I have made it to 12 of those places, but I am available to go back..>WITH YOU. Just say the word. And I will meet you at the gate k?
Awesome.
I follow you on twitter and decided that I should finally visit your site! Evonne Sell turned me on to you!
My list is small because I get such anxiety about traveling.
But I have been to Ireland and I loved it. We did not do a tour we just rented a car and had mapped out a plan before we left. We did not make reservations except the first bed and breakfast and one night in a castle!
But I am going to my husbands country Uruguay in December and am scared crapless! I know very little spanish!{We have been together for 6 years and I just never really put an effort into it!}
I hope you get to visit some of your places!
Marcy,
Meet you at the gate, indeed. Let's steal off to Greece.
Oh my Maine is the most beautiful place in America. Just stunning, you must go soon.
Wait. . . why isn't Brazil #1 on your list?!?
I have a very long travel bucket list, too. Our lists have a few differences like Thailand, France and Czech Republic.
Melissa,
How did Brazil not even occur to me?! Especially after our lengthy conversations about it? *sigh* add Brazil too please.
Ontario = where I live ^_^
