thrifted jewelry stand.

I’ve got a bit of a problem with jewelry. I have too much of it, way way too much. But I’m coming up with all kinds of clever ways to keep it untangled, and this is my latest.

I found a jewelry stand of some sort on my most recent excursion to Savers thrift store. I assume it was for short necklaces since my medium/long ones don’t work on it.

But for $1.99? I think I can figure out a way to make it work in my life. I’m putting earrings on it right now.

I think I might spray paint it a fun color like turquoise, but what do you think it’s for? Earrings? Necklaces? Collector spoons?

I have no idea what it's SUPPOSED to be, but I can guarantee that I need to find me one or something of the like. My dangley earrings and necklaces are a discombobulated mess on my bathroom counter, bed posts, and dresser.

    P.S. Turqoise? Yes please!

Great idea! It's time for another thrifty adventure! Let's the do the all day excursion that Kami suggested soon!!

  3. Mama Bear :

    Silverware?

  4. Emily G. :

I think Mama Bear's got it. That looks *a lot* like the stand I have for hanging flatware from Crate & Barrel. I'd link to a pic, but I don't think they carry it anymore.

  5. Naomi :

Cutlery stand. Yep. Smart reuse, though!

I love to go to treasure hunting at Savers too!

I use an old rake head..spray painted and hung on the wall. It holds a TON of HUGE necklaces…and looks HIP!!

  8. Kami :

ooh! Cool find! Yes…when is our all day thrifting event?!

  9. Dandy :

It's an odd height but I think it would be perfect in some bold color!

Its for cutlery, Ive got a few kicking around. Love the idea to use for jewelry. You could use it for keys. If you have that many spare keys.

I just about died laughing when I read this post. I recently purchased a necklace holder that isn't good for anything except earings…maybe yours was for braclets….never know.

Check out my great find: http://emilyhollingshead.blogspot.com/2010/05/what-find.html

BTW: I just love your blog…and I especially just love you. I think if we knew each other in real life I would totally be your friend…at least…it seems that way from the things you like and what I like…anyway.
