things that make me happy in life.

There’s no school tomorrow, hip hip hooray! Not that school ever stands in our way of pulling kids out for traveling adventures {my apologies mrs.wright} but it helps if there really is no school so I don’t feel guilty about it.

Tomorrow afternoon we’re having a BBQ with friends, my fridge is clean {it doesn’t happen that often, so it’s reason enough to celebrate} and my pantry is filled to the brim with Diet Dr. Pepper.

I’m getting ready to order prints from my new favorite local photographer. Do you know how hard it is to take photos of naughty children in an orchard during a lightning storm? Especially when it’s the middle of July, there’s a castle up the hill, and a sweet water park within hearing and seeing distance? You’d never know it from Crystalyn’s photos. She’s magic.

So really it doesn’t take much to make me feel happy inside: clean fridge, cute proofs of my kids, cold diet dr. pepper, and a BBQ in my sights. I’m easily placated.

What are your plans for the rest of the weekend?

    Melissa,

Cannot wait to come to your house tomorrow. I'm having Melissa withdrawals.

    Natalie,

You're sweet about it, but uh, not all educators are cool about my *free range traveling parenting*. So, thanks for that.

    Azucar,

    Uh, BARBECUE dude! Call me.

  5. Kage :

So, this is random, but I am that girl on the cover of Queen of Babble and I have always wanted to read it…..so now, maybe I will.

I just found you (for the first time) via DesignMom and I love you already. I swear we were meant to be friends! From our love of mommyhood, our addiction to Diet Dr. Pepper, where we call "home" (we probably live minutes apart) and our shared sense of personal style. I love. I love. I love.

And so, I must ask – where DID you get that fabulous shirt/dress that you wore in the photoshoot with your cute kiddos? SO, SO, SO classy.

  10. Petit Elefant :

    wilkinson-fam,

Email me so we can talk geography and perhaps go for a drive thru diet dr. pepper with crushed ice {mmmmmmmm}. The shirt I got at TJ Maxx for like $15. Sweet, right?
