Los Angeles is one of those places where you can spend a lifetime, and yet fail to see it all. Having been invited as guests of the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn, we were excited to have an opportunity to spend time in an area of Los Angeles that I have not been to in probably twenty years. The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn located in Studio City and the Hollywood buzz can be felt in the air. So close were we to the Hollywood action that the hotel offers a free shuttle to the Universal Studio City Walk. And of course when you are taking a photo on the red carpet, there is only one way to do it: and that is at full attention.

Yup, that’s me trying my best to do my Drunken Eastern European Cage Fighter face while all along the little one next to me is trying really hard not to crack up. We spent a few hours at the City Walk, had supper and just hung around, but overall the children were itching to get back to the hotel to continue their “discussion” on who was to get the top bunk.
Top bunk? Hotel? Is there something missing? Nope. The Beverly Garland has family travel figured out. The parents get a wonderful soft bed, while the children get a bunk bed. Now all that is left to do as a parent is to pass judgment and decide who gets to sleep on top.

And not only was there a bunk bed, but the bunk bed was in it’s own little nook with a desk and a TV. We must neglect our children, or not love them enough, but the children truly believed that their lives have not been complete until this exact moment in time when the stars aligned and provided them with a nook, a bunk bed, and a TV all at once.
Some of the amenities that the Beverly Garland has to offer include:
- Free Internet connection
- California café
- Lounge area
- Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi Spa & Sauna
- Fitness Center
- Kid’s Playground
- Tennis Courts
But most importantly, since this is a Holiday Inn; kids 18 and under stay free, while kids 12 and under not only stay free, but they also eat free. If you ever find yourself in the Studio City / Los Angeles area and need a place to stay, the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn is one of those places that should not be passed up.
Wow I'm definitely emailing that info to myself…we hope to hit CA in the next few years for a vacation and that hotel definitely rocks!
It was a fantastic hotel, the kids loved it! And it's right down the street from Universal Studios too.
