beautiful fall leaves in the mountains.

We took a drive up the canyon today while we listened to conference in the car. It’s an annual family tradition at our house, one the kids love.

See, don’t they look happy?

Don’t ask why P is wearing nightshades. It’s just one of those weekend things.

Provo Canyon is the best place to see leaves in the fall, it’s an indisputable fact.

The thing I love the most about Utah in the fall?

It snows five minutes after the leaves turn. In fact, it snowed on us while we hung out taking pictures.

I love where we live.

Don’t I look happy?

  1. Donna :

Cool nightshades! Where'd you get that cool Alexander Henry fabric? Looks like a nice ride.

  2. Azúcar :

I hoped you waved as you drove by!

  3. Marianne & Clayton :

Your son looks like a mini Jim Sturgess. That probably wont help with his charm situation.

  4. likeschocolate :

I think you look beautiful, and I think your layout has been fantastic. Can't wait to see the changes.

  5. The Breeders Digest :

You have a lovely and very happy family. I miss the leaves changing. Here in IL we'll be merrily enjoying a mild 72 degree day and the next thing we know, cold slaps us across our faces and knocks the leaves straight off the trees. No changing of the colors, no brisk fall weather…just a good kick in the pants. Ahhh, Chicago. Thanks for letting us live vicariously ;)

  6. Petit Elefant :

    Donna,

Only the best friend I have gave me some fabric! I still haven't paid her, by the way.

    Azucar,

I did. In fact, I was pretty tempted to stop in, but I figured I'd catch you in pajamas. ;)

    Marianne & Clayton,

I had to google Jim Sturgess, but yes he sort of holds a candle to the cuteness that is C. The teenage years are sure to be trouble.

    likeschocolate,

thank you! it will be fun, i promise.

    Laura-editor,

I know, and I wasn't even wearing makeup! I'm in love with them.

    Sue-donym,

I would have waved, had I known it was you! It was gorgeous up there yesterday wasn't it?

    The Breeders Digest,

I like to think so. Most of the time anyway. ;)

I love the transition, it gives me a bit of a warning before the freezing cold, grey, and snow. Plus, it's really pretty.

  7. Laura_editor :

I can see your lashes thru your shades! I really can! :)

  8. Naomi :

It does look gorgeous. And you do look happy! Good times, good times.

  9. sue-donym :

We probably passed each other in the canyon.
    I love Provo Canyon.

  10. vanessa :

Ha! I am pretty sure we were at the same place at the same time that day! ;)

  11. Petit Elefant :

it IS beautiful, my favorite season in utah.

    vanessa,

really? yesterday afternoon? we could have hung out, except that it started to snow on us while we were playing around in the leaves…

  12. Petit Elefant :

    pieface,

it has many redeeming qualities, the least of which is provo canyon in the fall.
