I love simple, everyday makeup. I like to keep it easy and under 5 minutes. You want to look polished when you pick up your kids from school… but heaven forbid you look like you’re trying too hard. The big Spring makeup trend is Coral. I, perhaps like you, was concerned to learn this. Coral is so 80’s, and not in a good way.
Don’t fret. This year’s coral is more subdued and peachy than you may expect. Here is the Bobby Brown ‘Cabana Corals’ Collection. See, no scary oranges, just pretty, shimmery tones (…sigh of relief).
Here is the makeup I used to create this look. It’s all from my personal ‘Bathroom Drawer’ collection (wink, wink).
Now for the step by step tutorial. I hope you ladies find this look as easy and as fresh as I do!
Thanks Aly for all the great guest posts this week! To find more from Aly Brooks check out A Little Great.
Gorgeous! I am going to have to go buy some coral make-up. I have heard that teal (which is another 80's cringe-worthy color) is also very popular right now.
I have wanted to buy an eye highlighter for a while. Looks like yours is from Chanel… do you have a recommendation for a cheaper brand?
Erin,
This is Allison here. Go Avon or something cheap to experiment with before you know you love it!
Fabulous — I've been thinking of trying at least something coral, maybe blush or a shade of lip gloss. Might have to make a trip to the mall this week!
Erin, I don't usually shop Chanel cosmetics! I bought that pencil when I got married, nine years ago! So, I guess if you do invest you know it will last :). These days I opt for ELF. Try this little pallete: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/face/shimmer/shimmer_palette.
It's only $3. Just use a concealer or a lip brush for the same effect as a pencil.
