I just got back from Park City, Utah for some badly needed R&R after returning home from New York City where I attended BlogHer 2010. Do you know what a BlogHer is? A BlogHer is a person like me, who blogs for a living and happens to be a woman; a mother, sister, wife, girlfriend.

Once a year there’s a conference called BlogHer for female bloggers, the biggest of its kind, which takes place in a different city in the U.S. There were 2400 of us this year, all converging in the Hilton Hotel in New York City for 3 days of networking, friendship renewing, conferencing, and partying.

Can you imagine the thought of 2400 media mavens in one hotel? It boggles the mind. Justin Hackworth, my dear friend, an official BlogHer photographer for the weekend, took some amazing photos of the whole event. It might give you a feel for what it’s like to have that much estrogen and social media power in one hotel.

I love it.
Anyway part of the deal with BlogHer, and all the parties surrounding it, is brands getting their names and products in the hands of influential women. We’re strong, we’re powerful, we’re influential, and if brands can get a mention by one of us, it’s really good for them.
SocialLuxe Lounge was created to recognize and pamper women in social media, bloggers, on the eve of the biggest blogging conference of the year, BlogHer. And at SocialLuxe, amazing sponsors like Avery, the title sponsor this year, get to show off their newest products while they primp and pamper us. It’s not a bad deal.
Me, with my two amazing friends and co-hostesses Jane Maynard of This Week for Dinner, and Marie LeBaron of Make and Takes.
There was quite a line to get in the door, it’s a popular party.

The party is all about pampering. There was champagne, chocolate, photo booths, henna tattoos, manicures, hair and makeup, massages, and much, much more.

Beautiful flowers.

An awards show to honor the winners of the BlogLuxe awards, which are peer nominated and voted blogging awards.

And goodie bags from our title sponsor Avery, filled to the brim with emergency preparedness things like: Band-Aids, chap-stick, Starbucks gift cards, and hair ties. It’s the little touches like that that make Avery an amazing company and all our other amazing sponsors that made SocialLuxe Lounge this year such an amazing success.

Plus, any time I get to hug and love on Ree Drummond, aka Pioneer Woman, it’s a good day for me. I have trouble with affection, I want to pet and hug the people I love. Sorry Ree.
For those of you who came to the party, thanks for making it such a big success, and if you’re a blogger heading to San Diego, California next year for BlogHer, I hope to see you at next year’s SocialLuxe pampering the night away!

xoxoxoxo…love it!!! It was a fabulous weekend. I’m going to do a post just for Social Luxe, you know when I have free time and stuffs….
That free time is so elusive, isn’t it? Just NOW photographing the swag. Takes a while to adjust back into reality.
:)
well you didn’t leave her with too bad an impression {last time you saw her} if she let you “that” close to her again ;)
I guess she doesn’t think I’m too much of a stalker if she hugs me, it’s true.
p.s. looks like a wonderful time!
It was, it was so fun!
I am happy you had such a good time. One of these days count me in because I am gonna be there with you!
Oh, I really hope so! It’s such a fun party.
Let’s do it all again! Even the crazy in the bathroom at P-dub’s fancy hotel. You know the one I called “ga-ga” right when I walked in. funny.
It was fun huh? I think it was fun, I was so tired it all seems like a big blur.
:)
So glad you were there for the whole crazy ride!
Loved it! So. much. fun! I should have gotten the Henna to help me remember it for days to come!
You totally have to get henna. I made the lady do it even though it was time to go home and the party was technically over. I love henna.
i was just thinking this morning, it was such a big build up…and now it’s just OVER. weird. it was amazing, as always, working with you and marie. and, can I say again, I’m so glad it’s over?!?! :) mwah!
It’s amazing that a year of your life can go by in such a flash, isn’t it?
loved every minute of it. sooo glad i was able to go.
So glad you were able to come too, you worked your cute booty off, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
Oooo, I see my picture! I made your post! LOL! We had a great time at the Social Luxe party and it was nice meeting you there (and at the Shop @ Home event).
Mandy, I’m so glad you came and had a great time, we loved having you!
You know I just realized I haven’t ever thanked any of you for the party? God only knows the countless hours and effort that goes into such an event. It surely showed. I was honored to one of your attendees and will make sure next year, it is the only party I attend that night – I would have moved in had I had the chance.
Thank you so much for saying that, I really appreciate it. It literally takes an entire year to plan, hundreds and hundreds of hours divided between the three hostesses, so I’m so glad you had an amazing time.
See you next year?
It looks like you guys had a great time!
It was fantastic, everything I hoped it would be and more!
