I graduated with a degree in English and I love all things to do with the language! I work in the graphic design field, so I love finding things with great design. Last year, I discovered this seller on Etsy who combines the two into absolutely beautiful and educational greeting cards. My brother bought me the whole set for my birthday, and I was planning on using them in a baby’s room one day but I wasn’t expecting (and didn’t expect to be expecting so soon, either) so I used them myself in our home office by placing them in the doors of our Ikea cabinets.
The cards feature animals with their collective nouns. You’ve heard of a pride of lions, but did you know that there’s a collective noun for other animals, too? Like a watch of nightingales? Or a zeal of zebras? Check out her work. Smack of Jellyfish does other great cards, too!

Those are awesome!! I will definitely have to look into a set and also… how did you put those in the doors? Care to enlighten us with a DIY post?
so very clever. I’m digging them.
neat-o! never heard of some of these. i very much enjoy the English language also. :)
C, There’s no DIY to it, really. You just buy doors from Ikea that are meant to be frames. You can put whatever photos or fabric or wallpaper you want in them and bring a bit of interest into your room!
Thanks for making my art cards part of your office–great idea!
These are fabu – I hope I remember to look for them when we redo the kids room in a few months.
