A few weeks ago I received an email from an ad agency who represents a small Central American country, claiming The Costa Rica Tourism Board had personally selected me, and wanted to send me on a vacation to Costa Rica.

I did what anyone would do in the situation. I sent a snarky email right back, asking about the hidden agenda.
There had to be a catch right? People don’t just call up and offer trips to a gorgeous Central American country for a once in a lifetime trip that happens to cross a few items off your life list.
Never happens.

Except when it does. And then it totally feels like the world stops spinning because that kind of thing just never happens ever, and then one day it happens, and your brain explodes.

So after a bit of back and forth, it turns out a very generous vacation to Costa Rica with my family is actually and totally, happening.
What, what?
Sometime in the next six months {I don’t know when, hopefully sooner than later} I’m headed with the whole famdamily to Central America to visit Costa Rica, the happiest country on the planet all the while crossing items off my Life List.
I can’t wait to share with you while we plan, resurrect my Spanish, immunize the entire family, read about the jaguars in the jungle, and the sharks in the tropical ocean where I hope to spend {99% of}my time.
Hasta Luego!
ohmygosh! how exciting!!!!
I know, I’m totally dying.
Sounds incredible- so happy for you! It’s on my bucket list, too!
It’s always seemed so far away though, you know?
Oh my goodness! That is so incredible. And yes I’m a bit jealous!!
Steph
It’s okay, I’d be jealous too Steph, I’m dying. DYING.
I am so, so thrilled for you guys! I can’t wait to hear all about Costa Rica, I’ve always wanted to go!
I think it would be lovely if you could come with. You could help me resurrect my Spanish much faster that way.
I could be OK with that…I’ll try real hard to make the time.
Okay missey! Europe and Costa Rica in the same year? I am now officially jealous my dear! :P
Well, TECHNICALLY it’s not the same year, since we went to Europe in May-June and we won’t go to Costa Rica until 2012. But trust me, I feel the same way. I’m a little freaked out myself.
I heard it is beautiful!
That is amazing! I spent my honeymoon there!
Please tell me you realize how lucky you are to get all of this great stuff. Right? I cannot even believe all of the cool stuff you get to do.
I don’t think she’s “lucky”, I think she works hard for these opportunities. Yes, she’s going someplace amazing, but she has to earn that trip. TANSTAAFL.
How cool is that? Have a wonderful time and take plenty of pictures!
Jennifer, I plan on taking a handful of memory cards, because there’s no way my camera can handle it all. Thank you!
Before you go make sure everyone in your family can say: PURA VIDA! PURA VIDA is totally Costa Rican! Also the white water rafting there is the best on the planet, no joke. It’s a fantastic place for families!
Oh, I love that you’ve gone! I’m memorizing Pura Vida! And, I think we might be going rafting. I can hardly believe it!
