My husband and I take very different approaches on socks. I have literally three pairs of socks. Mike has about fifty. At least. I go sockless (obviously) about 350 days a year—the days that I’m not wearing my favorite pair of knee-high gray striped socks. (The other two pairs of socks I own just sit uselessly in my drawer.) Mike’s socks end up strewn about the house in whichever places he has chosen to take them off. And on laundry day, it’s a whole job in and of itself to try to round up all the socks and then find all the pairs at folding time. I swear, one of these days I will throw away all his socks and replace them all with 50 pairs of the same pattern.
With our baby, Little O, I am sometimes not sure what to do. Sometimes I bring him out barefoot. It is the summer after all. Before the age of about 3 months, I didn’t bother with shoes at all because they just seemed like something made to be lost. Socks were hard enough to keep on his feet. Now, I have one pair of shoes that fit him well, so sometimes he wears socks and shoes, sometimes he wears just socks, and occasionally (very occasionally) I’ll even let him wear the shoes with no socks at all. And as socks are prone to do, many go missing and on laundry day I end up with several mismatched pairs.
Enter Nowali Moccasins, the perfect solution for a sock-resistant mom like me. These are socks and shoes combined. And Little O looks so cute in his—a little big for him yet (he’s such a big boy and grows so fast that I never allow myself to purchase anything in his current size), but I think they’ll be perfect this fall and winter, just in time for him to start walking around the house. The non-skid bottoms will help avoid some falls, and I love that they’re machine washable, which is a must for any kid’s clothing.

I, myself, am a shoe resistant. My daughter didn't wear shoes until she was walking.
I do love socks though! The funkier, the better!
Ah! Such a cute pic – love it!
