My absolute favorite of motherhood is the feeling that you’re needed. I love being able to be the one to comfort my children when nothing else will do. I love the love that I receive back from my children in forms of grins and giggles.

this adorable baby boy loves me and his daddy unconditionally. i can’t believe it. i didn’t do anything to deserve that from him. such a sweet reminder of God’s grace and unconditional love. that’s why i like being a mom.
It was just this morning…my 3 year old was playing with this 9 month old brother and they were CRACKING up. They’re finally buddies. Knowing that no matter what, they’ll always have each other. Makes me smile.

Right now, it’s the look my 7 month old gives me every time she smiles. She looks at me and she doesn’t mind that my hair is going gray, or that I’m not wearing my make-up or that I didn’t put in my contact lenses yet…she just shows pure love.

My favorite part of motherhood has got to be the joy in hearing my childrens laughter. I love hearing my girls giggle about something silly, and my 4 month old boy just beginning to get the giggles. I love seeing them happy, truly happy. Not the kind of happy that candy, or a new toy brings, but when they learn something new, and the sheer pleasure they get from that.
I love kissing my boys and playing the don’t wipe it off game. Of course they wipe it off, then I just have to keep kissing them!
The best thing about being his mom is the contentment I feel knowing that this child, this very special treasure, will never be alone. He will always have at least one person in the world that is there, no matter what. One person to run to in crisis, good fortune, for advice or just reassurance or a hug; his mom.

my favorite part of being a mom is seeing my daughter happy. that’s really all i ever want. i was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and my 15 mo old daughter’s smile and laugh has been the best therapy. she keeps my spirits up and continues to keep me having a positive attitude.
There is so many things my kids do that move me. Watching them sleep, priceless, watching them wake with their smiling faces, even more priceless.
But, I cannot tell you how I cry with joy,and laughter as we enjoy watching all the video’s of their lives growing up. Watching them sleeping and then awakening on their first birthdays to opening presents on their first christmas to their most recent holiday again, priceless. Also dancing to their favorite music, watching them as they were in plays as small toddlers and then when they get the starring roles as they got older, to watching them in their sports from when they were toddlers to high school makes me and even Papa, cry everytime with joy. Watching them trying to pick up bowling balls when they were so small and then try to roll it down the lanes to watching our last child, running to win State or break State, school and stadium records is something you cannot ever replace. Having all these memories is worth all the money in the world and the most precious thing I will have forever that we will watch when they are all gone from the nest, and I am missing them horribly. Shoot, we watch them now all the time! This aspect of recording our childrens lives has been the most important part and precious part of parenting I can think of. Trust me, these are in fire proof safes, because there is nothing more special, rewarding, or important then having all these memories recorded so that not only can we watch them, over and over and over again, but, the kids too can watch them and show them to their kids and so on. And the pictures..putting them in flip books and making videos of those is just as valuable and so much fun! Making sure we have these memories of all these wonderful moments and memories is the most important, precious, enjoyable and FAVORITE thing I have done as a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. Can’t wait to sit down with my grandkids to watch their mom or dad when they were young and silly!

I was surprised to find that, after a year of motherhood, my favorite thing was when my daughter started calling me “Mom”. She had babbled Mamama for a while, but when she said it and meant it and knew it was me, it melted my heart.
I love it all (most of the time), but when I think about the moment the head comes out during birth, I get really choked up.
I loved the way I felt the first time I heard my children cry when they were born. Now? I love to hear them say, “I love you, Mommy.” Makes me melt. :0)
