completely organic laundry detergent.

Would you like to know what I’m using on vacation to do my laundry, over and over and over again? Soap Nuts. Never heard of them? They’re amazing. Soap Nuts are the actual fruit of trees found in India, Indonesia, and Nepal and they clean your clothes without any preservatives, which is fantastic for a person like me who happens to be allergic to everything known to man. My kids are too, so I’m always on the hunt for detergents that won’t bother their skin, and they’re biodegradable. What’s not to love?

Put a few Soap Nuts in a little drawstring bag {it comes with the nuts}, toss them in the wash and they do the rest. The cool thing about them is that you can use them up to four times, so as I’m schlepping my family’s laundry down the coast I only have to take this little bag and not a huge box of detergent.

Laundry Tree Starter Kit
$14.99

{washes up to 40 loads}

If you’re so inclined {I am} to add a yummy smell to your laundry, try some of the essential oils, they give it that little something extra. My pick? What else: energy {Peppermint, Rosemary, Lemon, and Eucalyptus}, it’s divine.

    This is an awesome idea! I'm going to look into these for our summer vacation. It certainly beats schlepping a bottle of Tide!

    I won a mystic wonder laundry ball on a blog giveaway. I thought it sounded kind of hokey, but it seems to work great. I've been using it for several weeks now and it supposedly lasts a year. I like the idea of the essential oils to give it a nice smell.

    oh, and I’ve been using scent-less laundry detergent and dryer sheets for years now – if I have to use scented it drives me kind of batty. I think these might be right up my alley!
