Well, crocheting is more my passion. However, knitting has a neater, cleaner, look on sweaters and hats. I don’t know how to knit. My mom tried to teach me a time or two. Now that I am a mother, I feel this call to make sweaters, hats, blankets and all yummy homemade things. So I’d love to get this wonderful “giveaway” so I could get started.

  39. Shari :

Ok ! I want it! I used to knit – in my single days, I even used to sell my knitwear. but since getting married and having a baby I just don’t do it any more. about a year ago my neighbor asked me if I knew how to knit, I said sure! Her 15 year old daughter wanted to learn. So I packed up my knitting stuff and took it over. Taught her how to knit and gave her my stuff to use. Shortly after this she moved away and I never saw my knitting stuff again! Recently I have been looking at some cool knitting patterns for my daughter! And realized I have no knitting stuff anymore! Boy I could use this!
    Shari

  40. Shari :

just left my comment but forgot a contact email! silly me! I really want it! I will twit now too!

  41. judyv12306 :

I have been knitting for 50 yrs and a Mom of 6 and grandma of 22 and 4 great grans with more to come. First there is no way I would make any thing for a kid never mind a baby with cotton or wool. If you like the pattern you can cut out the blocking step by using some type of synthetic yarn. (and you can rid the sweater of all poop and spit up by machine washing and drying) Second this pattern is easy knitting but the putting it together is not as easy. Third this pattern requires 2 skills both knitting and crocheting.
But the contest is great. And I hope whoever wins enjoys knitting many many articles.

  42. endrase :

This is a fantastic offering. My Nana spent countless hours trying to teach me to knit. For some reason, it was very difficult for me to master. Later, my dear friend, Dafne, tried again, but still, I was not able to catch on. Finally, I gave it one last try after watching DIY shows, and Voila! I can Knit!! Now, I don’t want to stop. I am like a kid in a candy store with all the amazing yarns and fibers out there. It is really getting out of hand. Winning this is a terrific opportunity to add to my growing obsession.

Why do I need these supplies? To ease my addiction….I have to have five hundred million projects going at once…and I only have about four hundred million at this moment…*G*

  130. Steph :

I need these supplies because I am dying to learn how to knit. I see all these awesome projects/crafts on etsy and know I could do it, just need the tools and the resources. With another baby on the way I need something to calm my mind, knitting may be just the thing.

  132. true :

Been knitting since 1979 and most of my needles are that old! I knit at least 3 sweaters a season, blankets and accessories. I donate to hospitals and other organizations. But my favorite knitting is blankets for my two kitties. :)

  133. Dolores :

I think I deserve this kit because I go to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital with my son every two months. I stay with him for two days and I wanted to start knitting because I am always bored while I’m there with him and he’s receiving his treatment. I’m a single mom with a child who has a brittle bone disorder for that reason the doctors don’t allow me to work and I can’t afford buying this on my own. I also wanted to make some nice things for my baby boy Malaki. Thanks!!!!

  134. Sharon :

WOW..LOVE this contest. I am a fanatical crocheter and am just learning to knit as well…I make blankets for a local charity and for family members..and am now learning to make clothing as well…would LOVE to win this BADLY THANKS for entry!

I want these supplies to give to my daughter. She recently moved back to our area with hubby and baby on the way. She asked me to teach her to knit because she wanted to make the baby a sweater. (she found a beginner pattern online) So far so good. I bought her a knitting bag to hold her supplies…she was using a grocery bag…ugly…so now it would be great to fill that bag with supplies! 194. Lauren S :

I would like these because today when I was reading a book how to help my son be happy, I read that I need to change myself as a model for my son. That will be the only way for him to find happiness. The author suggested that you start small. So I decided that becoming a better knitter would make me happier. And then I saw this contest hours later. All I know how to do is a straight stitch and I’ve never made anything more complicated than a scarf.

I want this for my daughter who is the crocheter in the family. My grandmother taught her when she was little but died before she could teach her to knit. She has always wanted to learn. I read all these comments of I want to learn to knit. Believe me I DON’T. I never liked things like that and now athritus in my hands keeps me from learning it, if I wanted to. Give me a good book and I’ll sit for hours but let my daughter do the yarn work. ybutler@oppcatv.com

  237. alexandrea :

I have tried learning crochet but I keep buying really fluffy yarn and losing my way among the fuzz! I would like to give knitting a shot with appropriate yarn, and those are beautiful colors!
I want to work my way up to making a certain hat which is adorable but costs $70 – it might take me a couple years to become good enough to make it but I have a goal and thats enough for me.

  238. Deborah :

I tried to take a class on knitting, but they cancelled it because not enough people signed up. Isn’t that awful? So even if I don’t win (which I really hope I do), I’ll still find some way to learn to knit and then try out Lori’s pattern. It does look complicated, but I’m not scared.

  239. Jen :

I would love to learn to knit and this would be the kick start into learning it for sure! I always watched my grandma knit sweaters, hats, scarves etc, but never had the chance to learn from her! This would be something I could do that would remind me of her and maybe she would send me down some good knitting vibes from heaven!

  240. AllieOop :

I have a teenage daughter that has taught herself how to knit and crochet. She amazes me. Anyhow, she only has one set of knitting needles and I know she would love more supplies. So far she has been knitting scarves and doing an excellent job. I love her determination and desire to make something by hand!

I learned to knit many years ago, but I somehow lost all of my supplies when I moved. I would love to get back to knitting because it is relaxing and you get a real feeling of accomplishment when you finish a project. My skills are limited, but it is a great hobby! Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!

I would love these items! Many years ago my college roommate taught me how to knit. I was all ready to make a sweater but the project got put on the back burner. Now that my children are growing so fast, I’m ready to start on the project anew! These supplies would really help with that and other projects I have in mind.
