happy new year!

I’m completely excited about a new year. New Year’s resolutions, fresh slate, clean house. I haven’t gotten to the clean house part yet but it’s one of my resolutions!

2009 was bananas for me. BA-NA-NAS. I traveled all over the country:

Houston, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Monterey, Huntington Beach, L.A., San Diego, Chicago, Boston, New York, Huntington Beach {again}, Salt Lake City.

I threw a party with a group of amazing women at BlogHer ’09, and survived to tell about it!

I stalked until I met Ree Drummond and Stephanie Nielson. *SIGH*

I wore skinny jeans for the first time ever, {you should too!}.

I threw caution to the wind and did a style segment on a local TV morning show.

It was a busy 2009 and I think 2010 is going to be pretty close to the same, if not even better.

I’m starting off the year with a bang, speaking at Alt Summit in January and Mom 2.0 in February. I’m running a relay with a group of bloggers in May and planning a trip to Europe later that same month, then doing another SocialLuxe Lounge in August {N.Y.C. this time!}

EatBlogRun.com

Holy cow, I just can’t sit still.

Go team go!

What are you doing in 2010? Running a marathon? Spending more time with your kids? Going out on a limb with fashion? Reading more books?

Do tell.

We live in the country but we're a little bit rock + roll. Welcome!

I am going to read more "petit elephant" and just live vicariously through you! ;)

I hope to exercise regularly, finally teach my kids Spanish and try to use my oven more, microwave less.

    happy new year!

  2. Jill :

well…it's far from glamorous, but i resolve to be more prepared with food storage, water and a well-stocked 72-hour kit. the peace of mind it will bring will be priceless!

besides, how much crap can you honestly buy from sephora? it's getting to be a bit ridiculous!

  3. Emily :

I love how crazy your life is–it makes mine feel more sane! I am excited for all you have going on in 2010. You go, girl! The world could definitely use more Allison for sure. Me? I hope to launch my new site soon, move on from georgie tees to do more writing and somehow do all that while spending less time online and more time offline with my family. Wish me luck!

I've been lurking around your blog for a while and haven't commented. I love your blog and seeing what you're up too. Busy is good, it keeps life exciting! I love near Salt Lake City! I'm going to run a favorite mountain race, 25k in Afton, Wy and a some new races, a 10k at Goblin Valley, Ut with my 14 yr old son and a couple of half marathons. I want to learn to ride my kayak this year, that's one of my goals. Stop by and visit me sometime!

I'm hoping to go on a humanitarian trip to commemorate a milestone birthday. That and a boatload of other things.

  7. Petit Elefant :

    Laura,

You're so great! I need to do the same: teach my kids Spanish and use the stove, good points!

    Jill,

Practicality can't always be pretty, but I'm sure you give it a run for its money. Besides, doesn't a 72-hour kit include makeup?

    Marie,

    Ba-na-nas indeed!

    Emily,

I sometimes love how crazy my life is too. Most of the time anyway. Good luck launching a new site and spending more time with your family. Repeat after me: Ba-lance.

    Kage,

I do know Carrie indeed, she's running the relay with me, love her!

#1- BlogHer will be so much fun you won't know what to do with yourself. Seriously.

#2- I HIGHLY, highly, doubt you can't make skinny jeans work. If I can do it, anyone can.

    Carol,

I'm so glad you said hello! I cannot believe you're running a 25k, that's insane. In a really good way. I have a kayak too and haven't been in it for years; that really should be one of my goals!

    Ellen,

A humanitarian trip is something I'd LOVE to do with my kids. I did two in high school and they were life changing, go you!

  8. Kami :

Bananas is going to my word for the year. Go Team Go is right!

  9. Naomi :

Whoa, nelly! You are a busy, busy girl.

My plan in 2010 is to be more optimistic. Think of the cans instead of cannots. Be nicer, happier, healthier. And hopefully it will trickle down into every aspect of my life- family, friends, blog.

  10. Natalie :

Well, thanks to inspiring blogs like yours, I've resolved to dress more stylishly – a huge step for me. I also plan to keep up my goal of running 50 miles a month, and maybe even surpass it so I can run even more miles than I did last year.

Now, if only I could talk myself into trying those skinny jeans…

  11. Boston Mamas :

Dude, that is all AWESOME. xoxo
