Happy Anniversary honey! Here’s to another 11 years, more or less.
Top 11 perks about being married to Victor:
- I never have to wonder what he’s thinking. Ever. I know the second he thinks it, because it comes straight out of his mouth immediately thereafter. He has no filter, and it can be very entertaining.
- He takes care of me. Puts me to bed when I’m tired, feeds me when I’m hungry, leaves me alone when I need quiet. He understands my needs better than I do sometimes.
- He looks like a lion, but really he’s a lamb. Very tender. Cries more than I do when we watch *those* kind of movies. No, not romantic comedies, foreign films. He very successfully boycotts romantic comedies.
- He gives me me-time. Sends me away routinely with the girls so I can give back to me. I have more than a few girl nights a month, and at least once a year I go on a trip with a girlfriend. He doesn’t call me when I’m gone, no bothersome phone calls about what to feed the kids. Actually, if I call him to check in on the kids, it insults his manhood a bit that I might question his ability to parent on his own.
- Victor is the most supportive person in my life. Period. He moves mountains so I can be successful in all my ventures, and I cannot even begin to thank him for that.
- He’s unpredictable. That might sound like a bad thing, but I’m telling you it makes life interesting.
- He watched the whole of Twilight with me and didn’t laugh once. In fact, he told me if I ever wanted a freebie, it could be Rob Pattinson.
- Victor doesn’t think he’s above domestic duties. He does the dishes and laundry more than I do and doesn’t harp on me because I’m writing instead of cleaning. Thanks, honey.
- He gave me the most beautiful thing in the world: a family.
- If we’re in a restaurant and I want something from the waiter, Victor will raise his hand until someone helps him. While I was mortified the first 5-10 times this happened, I’m over it; it actually proves to be quite useful in a pinch when I need a diet dr. pepper refill.
- Victor makes me feel sexy. Doesn’t go a day without telling me he loves me, that he’s grateful we are together, that he thinks I’m an amazing mama. He picks me up when I’m down, keeps me grounded when I sail away, keeps me happy.
Victor I didn’t think it was possible, but I love you far more today than I did when we married and promised to spend forever together. It’s been an amazing 11 years and I can’t wait for more. I love you!
