frozen grape snack.

frozen grape

Have you ever frozen grapes for a quick little snack?  Honestly, in the heat of the summer it’s one of the best things out there.

Wash your grapes, put them in a gallon Ziploc freezer bag {you know how I love the Ziploc} and pop them in the freezer.  They make little morsels of tasty frozen-ness.

If you want to get crazy and take it to a whole new level of yum, soak the grapes in 7-UP, Sprite, or something equally bubbly and delicious for about an hour before you freeze.

Delicious!

Try really good blueberries, like the big fat ones we grow in Southern Illinois, in the ice box too. So, so good, and better for you.

    • Petit Elefant :

Blueberries, mmmm, haven’t tried that! I love that you say ice box, it makes me think of my grandmother who called it the same thing.

  5. Deb :

I’ve never even heard of this. Sounds wonderful!!

    • Petit Elefant :

  7. Michelle :

Yum! That is what we lived on when I was younger, although I’ve never tried it with 7UP!

    • Petit Elefant :

You MUST try it with 7UP. Give ’em a good soak though so they absorb a little bit.

I heard that the “hot pool girls” at the Ceaser’s Palace in Vegas go around handing out frozen grapes… but they are probably not soaked in bubbily {hummmm… champagne?} and they probably don’t hand them to us MOM’s, they’re pry for the hot guys! lmfao!

    • Allison :

Stop it, do they really? The things I don’t know about Vegas could fill a large stadium.

  12. Amy :

these are some of our favorite summer time treats. But only the green grapes :)

    • Allison :

I have yet to try the purple, but I hear they’re great too. I’ve never soaked the purple grapes in anything, but man they’re tasty frozen!

  13. Lisa (WithStyle) :

This is one of my favorite frozen treats along with frozen blueberries. If I need a little chocolate fix, I’ll freeze either bite size dark chocolate &/or choc-chips, helps to keep me from taking down the entire bag :)

    • Allison :

My mom used to do that! Freeze chocolate chips, I mean. That’s funny. It’s true, it’s a slippery slope with chocolate.

      :)

I have relatives with cherry orchards, so we pit and freeze cherries every summer. Same idea — sweet and refreshing. :o)
