I’m feeling the March doldrums. I know they’re supposed to be reserved for January, but I’m feeling them right now. In the middle of a nasty day in March. I personally think March should be eliminated from the calendar entirely, but that’s neither here nor there. What is here, and there, is my Thursday Fit Tip which is:
I have a girlfriend who is an exercise guru. I mean, she could teach the class. She gets up at 5:45 every day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to work out. Whether or not she’s sick, tired, cold, ornery, pregnant, or PMS-ing, she works out. The reason it works for her is that it’s a scheduled part of her day. She gets up, works out, and then her day begins. She’s a mother of two with a chronically ill child. She has as much on her plate as the rest of us, but she manages to make it happen on a daily basis because she schedules it into her day. Every day. All year long.
If you haven’t signed up for my 2009 Fitness Challenge, do it now. Don’t wait. Come on. You know you want to.
I started doing a schedule of “dance party” with the toddler for about an hour a day before her nap.
I lost 4 lbs in a month. She takes really long naps!
Such a great idea! And who doesn’t love dancing, right?
My problem is that in simplifying my life I cut out things that aren’t a “must” and unfortunately for me exercising isn’t a “must.” And at 5:54 I’d be hitting the snooze.
My birthday is in March, so please don’t obliterate it from the calendar until I’m dead. =)
My husband is currently doing a similar thing. He wakes up at 5:45Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and goes running: rain, snow, or shine. I keep telling myself I’ll do the same thing once it’s warm. Excuses excuses
I’m personally NOT a morning person, I just have to figure a way to schedule it into my crazy crazy life.
