fall boots for 2010.

You’ve noticed a lot of boots on women around town, yes?  I’m so excited this boot trend hasn’t gone anywhere because I’m a huge fan of the boot and it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the fact that Utah is snowy 9 months out of the year.  I don’t think.

Anyway, I’m thrilled boots are here to stay.  Here’s a round-up of a few of my favorite styles of fall boots for 2010.  I put a few price points in there too, boots can be an expensive proposition, but keep in mind it’s almost universally true that you get what you pay for.

1. Suede Booties, Forever 21 $27.80

2. Ugg Boots $200

3. Ankle Boots, Macy’s $59.00

4. Heel Boots,Old Navy$49.50

5. Women’s Buckled Boots, Zappos $69.95

6. Peep Toe Bootie Shoes, Overstock.com $47.67

I’ll go into what to wear with boots in another post, but simmer on these ones for a while.  Which ones do you like the best?  All of them?  None of them?  Do you wear boots where you live?

Omg…too many cute choices! I think 2 and 3 are my favs.

    • Allison :

      I know, it’s terrible really.

I can’t believe that Uggs makes cute boots now. Happy day.

Boots are one of my favorite parts about colder weather!
I’m a sucker for grey suede (though I’ve yet to actually purchase any, I’m still in shopping mode on that one). I’ve got a pair of brown knee length (low heel) that I adore, and a pair of black knee-length with heels that I wear when I’m trying to look very grown-up (not often). Not to mention the mandatory rain boots and snow boots…

    • Allison :

      Robyn,

I have a similar boot problem: snow boots, regular everyday boots, cowboy boots, rain boots, and then regular pretty boots. I’m overrun with boots.

  3. Alicia W. :

I love #2…you would be proud of me though, I picked up a pair of short brown boots at the thrift store for $5. I don’t know if the brand is any good or how long they’ll last, but $5 is a deal I couldn’t pass up.

    • Allison :

$5 is a deal no matter what. And if you hate them and they’re uncomfortable, it’s only $5! Way to go kid.

  4. Jenny :

You have omitted the pair I have been ogling since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The Born Crown boots in brown or gray with the buckle. I am in deep smit with those boots. They aren’t much to look at online, but they are amazing in real life. I also like #5.

    • Allison :

      jenny,

Oh, oh, I don’t need to remember about the anniversary sale, it’s TROUBLE. Deep smit is right.

  5. Erica :

I like the Ugg boots (#2). But Kentucky gets a lot of rain and our winter is a lot of slush and ice, so I don’t know if a heel and suede will work well here. I’m ready for new boots and this gets my thoughts cranking :)

    • Allison :

They’re cute, right? I opt no for the suede and/or a heel, but there are heel-free options that would be adorable too.

  6. Lori :

Way to go Old Navy. Those slouchy boots are cute- to -boot. (I’m lame… bad joke). We just moved and have some Enke’s in our neighborhood. I bet you guys are related. Just thought I’d share.

    • Allison :

      Lori,

My husband thinks slouchy boots are “unkempt” but I think they’re the cutest thing on heels.

      Which Enke’s?!

      • Lori :

Agreed… I wish my knees were so slouchy and unkempt so I could pull them off. Maybe in the next life.

I’m not sure who the parents of the kids are, but the son is Oscar and he is in my primary group. He’s probably 9 or 10.

      • Allison :

Lori, Oscar is my cousin’s son. Laurel was married to my cousin. She’s one of the best people out there.

  7. Emily :

Okay, I just bought some cute gray ankle boots (I think they’re Madden Girl) and need help knowing what to wear with them besides skinny jeans. I didn’t ever think I’d buy a pair but these were too cute to pass up. Help!

    • Allison :

You can wear boyfriend jeans with the hems rolled up at least two inches above the top of the boot, leggings, a dress, a skirt, you name it.

  8. Sandy a la Mode :

i think quite possibly the thing i am looking forward to the most about fall is BOOTS!!! love this roundup!!

    • Allison :

I agree! I’m not a big fan of cold weather but if I can wear boots and sweaters, I’ll take it as compensation.

      :)

  9. Laura :

I *heart* those first ones. They’re wicked cute.

I love boots, too, but alas… I am one-with-massive-cankles, and find it exceedingly difficult to find boots that fit me. I also live in Iowa, in the country, where we have some seriously nasty snow/ice storms, so the only boots I currently own are a pair of Keen hiker/snow boots that don’t lace all the way up because of my thick legs. But with the right snowpants, they are very practical and warm. And cute, when I put the pants over them and you just see the bottoms.

But those little problems don’t stop me from ogling and drooling over most pairs of boots that I find. I just keep thinking… someday…. either I’ll have smaller cankles or they’ll make cute wide-leg boots!

    • Allison :

You know, some stores sell wider width boots for just this reason. I’d look on Zappos and see if you can’t find something that works. Maybe UGGs too.

I’ve had similar problems in the past with boots that go all the way up my calves, it’s really tricky to find the right pair!

  10. Laura :

Oh, and I never understood the point of peep-toe boots! Doesn’t that kind of mess with the function?

    • Allison :

      Totally beauty over function! :)

  11. Bethaney :

This is one of my favorite subjects and you must check out the Sundance Catalog online – All of my boot purchase in the past years have of been from this one place! Love it!

    • Allison :

Oh, doesn’t Sundance have the cutest stuff in the world? I’m so lucky, there’s a Sundance outlet like 45 minutes from my house. So cute!

  12. Christine (iDreamofClean) :

LOVE all of those boots! I’m a huge boot fan but try to limit myself…this post is not helping :-)

    • Allison :

      I know, I can’t help it, it’s BOOT season!

    • Allison :

Aren’t those the cutest? With some skinny jeans? Stop, I’m all aflutter now.
