I spent the weekend in San Francisco. Not a bad place to go really, especially when it was snowing in Utah and San Francisco was nothing but sunny skies and 68 degree weather.
The trip was bittersweet for me; I had to drop out of the Eat.Blog.Run relay race, but I went to San Francisco anyway to cheer on the team from the sidelines.
Want to venture a guess as to why I was forced to bail out of a race I’ve been training for since before Christmas?
One guess.
I hate this disease.
Anyway, I got to hang out with the Eat. Blog. Run team in all their fabulousness. Marie really outdid herself putting this team together, these women are all amazing.
The team included: Barefoot Brenna, Christine, Meg, Samantha, Kelly, Karianna, Emmie, Marie, Linsey, Heather, Carrie, & of course Van #1’s fearless driver Jane.
I’m not going to lie, it was really painful to be there hanging out with my girls without actually hitting the pavement. I had a few moments alone at the hotel where I wanted to break something, but I watched a marathon of Matt Damon movies instead. Turns out? Matt Damon movies are a balm to the soul. The Bourne Identity especially.
I volunteered with Linsey’s fun husband Jeff on Saturday night, keeping track of runners so they didn’t end up getting lost in Napa Valley. Apparently it happens every year.
And I got to watch Van #2 come through my exchange with their sparkly, swishy bums reflecting in the night.
It’s a mixed bag of fun, this Lupus business. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
But go, go , GO Eat. Blog. Run! The team did an amazing job and I was happy to be a part of it.
{p.s. Christine? The three US Weekly’s missing from the hotel room? I may have snatched them. Accidentally.}
Sorry you didn't get to run but I'm glad you went anyway. It looks like you still had fun!
Sorry you didn't get to run but sound like a great weekend.
far out, looks like a triffic event! sorry stupid lupus stop you running, but glad you got to hang out with the girlies.
That sucks about having to drop out. Did you get to shop at the H&M; and the GIANT 3 story Forever 21? I always hit those when I go to San Francisco. I love shopping on Market Stree. (Is it Market Stree? I've been gone too long.)
So sorry you couldn't do the run! I am sure it was super disappointing but kudos to you for going on the trip and enjoying what you could get out of the experience. Also, you cheered on good friends and got to be in San Fran which is always awesome!
Curse that Lupus! Here he thought he could take you completely, but you outsmarted him – glad you still got to travel to San Fran and be with the girls! (P.S. I have no idea why I'm referring to your annyoing, painful disease as a male…)
Yay! Eat.Blog.Run!
Some friends of ours ran the same event, I believe. Bunch of cops…I'm sure they made their presence known. ;-)
I'm sorry you couldn't join in the fun. Such a bummer!!
I loved that you came and were still part of the team. You're a rock star even with stupid lupus!
Ya'll look hot! And Matt Damon Bourne Identity movies? A regular at our house.
