Cirque du Soleil.

A few nights ago we went as a family to see Cirque du Soleil in Salt Lake City. I had some hazy expectations of little gymnast girls in hoops, people flinging themselves across the stage in acrobatic fashion, someone hanging from the ceiling at some point. I told the kids as we left the house it would be something like the circus, cool and exciting and somewhat entertaining.

I’m not sure what I was thinking. Nothing, apparently.

I can’t tell you the last time I watched something quite so remarkable. Breathtaking. Heart stopping.

I spent the whole of the show shaking my head “No, that’s impossible, how do they do that?”.

My advice to you is thussly: if you ever have the chance to see Cirque du Soleil run, don’t walk, to get yourself some tickets. Take the kids, take your friends, go alone and eat some cotton candy all by yourself *ahem*.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list worthy, show.

Oh yeah! Cirque is totally amazing. They have all different shows too. My favorite was Varekai. We always get the video when we go see one. In fact, just the other weekend we spent most of the day just watching the videos. And although it's not as amazing as seeing it in person – we still spent most of the time with our jaw on the floor. They totally defy gravity!

The shows are totally awsome! Cirque has my vote for the most incredible talent, vision & costumes or lack of. One day when I win the lottery, I'm heading to LV & seeing all the shows. Video is a good substitute for the real thing but in person is amazing.

I’m a die hard Cirque-Head. We first saw them at Disney World, the La Nuba show which was freakin’ fantastic! Since that first show we’ve seen them 3 times here in New England and once in NYC. Our next show is Father’s Day. Can’t wait!

I saw my first Cirque last month when we stayed over in Vegas on our way down to Bloggy Bootcamp and was STUNNED. I haven’t stopped talking to people about it since! We saw O and I’m dying to catch another to compare it with because I can’t imagine being more taken with anything – O was jaw-droppingly spectacular from start to finish.

Great post – would love to know the name of your show so I can put it on my “must see” list!
