I love Cookie Magazine. I love everything about it, especially the clever decorating and organization ideas for kids rooms. I spied this little nook in Cookie a little while ago and fell in love with it; we have so many little cars and trains roaming around our house that would love to find a home in a little zipper cases like these. var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? beautiful farmhouse sink from cottage living magazine.
I need, want, must have this farmhouse sink. Or one very much like it. Isn’t it perfect? Maybe it’s just the whole kitchen I’m coveting. {via Cottage Living}.

Have you seen Eliza, this sweet magazine? I can definitely stand behind their philosophy: “Created for women who want to be stylish, sexy, and engaged in the world while retaining high standards in dress, entertainment, and lifestyle.” Do any of you have a subscription already? Have you seen it in the flesh? I can’t wait to see what else they have in store. Go here for a list of stores that carry Eliza, here to purchase a subscription. {images via…

book pick: dairy queen.
Catherine Gilbert Murdock {via Amazon.com} $10.88 I’ve been reading a lot of YA {young adult} literature lately. Lest you think I’m a bear of very little brain, I read a lot {4-5 books a week} and not all of it is YA. Young Adult just happens to be, in my opinion anyway, a hotbed of very very talented authors. My new favorite is Catherine Gilbert Murdock author of my new favorite series, Dairy Queen and The Off Season. The narrator…

inspiration
I often find myself inspired by the fun, creative ideas posted over at OhDeeDo. It’s a great conglomgerate of clever minds and resources. One of their latest posts: cupcake liner garland. They show it displayed in a bedroom, but I’m thinking it’s perfectly suited for birthday parties or baby/bridal showers. And can’t you just visualize it with Valentine-y cupcake papers? So simple, but also a bit charming.
blue room.
I’ve always wanted a Blue room. Much like I’ve always wanted a Red one. Victor says no to Red, but he didn’t have a say about Blue. Last time he went out of town I painted the Family Room Blue. Spa Blue, to be exact. The room is far from being done, but I thought I’d at least show you the paint. What do you think? The top photo kind of gives you a scale of the room {narrow!} but…

Supermarket flower upgrades
I absolutely love fresh flowers in my home. Love. Just one simple vase full can make a positive and dramatic impact. They are a luxury I rarely afford myself, and that my darling B used to indulge. (Sweetie, hint hint). As part of my New Year’s Resolutions, I recently grabbed a bunch of hot-pink alstroemeria at the supermarket and I’ve been so happy with them! Particularly for the gloom of winter blues, fresh flowers are the perfect tonic. And with…

Still Waiting
It’s me here—Alma—and I’m still waiting for the baby to come. I’m at 39 weeks and for some reason I really thought that he’d come before now. Probably I felt that Murphy’s Law would have him come on Christmas. He didn’t! And I even went on a walk through a foot of snow on Christmas night to see if I could put myself into early labor (or really to bring down my blood sugars after Christmas dinner because I have…
