cookie tip: add toffee bits to your favorite cookie.
It’s “bake cookies” day on our paper chain. My husband’s favorite kind is a snickerdoodle, but since I prefer a good old fashioned oatmeal or chocolate chip, that’s what we make most often. We experimented today and discovered this trick: next time you bake up a batch of your super-spectacular-best-ever-world famous chocolate chip cookies, add 1/2 cup toffee bits to the dough when you add the chocolate. recipe for delicious vegetarian chili
This chili from Robin Miller is very satisfying on a chilly evening, and for lunch the next day. Zesty, colorful, warm and hearty. Bonus points: cooks in the crock pot, and is quite healthful. My first gift suggestion is the book The Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 {yes, there was a Volume 1, and enough demand for a second book} for any grade school age kids you might have roaming around your house. If you have a kid in the grade school range I don’t need to tell…

really easy thanksgiving decorating
I’m here to tell you if decorating isn’t simple in every way, shape, and form I’m usually out. It’s just the way it is, I don’t have energy in my life for fuss. So this year I came up with what has to be the simplest Thanksgiving centerpiece known to man. A jar full of pumpkins. No lie. I bought the jar at D.I. for $1, bought a bag full of leftover Halloween pumpkins from the produce section of my…
