swiss miss update.

I posted a little while ago about how distraught I was over the lack of available Swiss Miss Mocha Cappuccino hot chocolate in my neck of the woods. I love the stuff and can’t find it anywhere anymore. Are you ready for the beauty of social media? A lovely woman from ConAgra, the parent company of Swiss Miss, found out about my post and my love of all things mocha, and sent me two cases of the deliciousness. TWO cases….

how to make ukrainian easter eggs.

I’ve wanted to make Ukrainian Easter Eggs with my children for years. I made them in a fine arts class in high school and completely fell in love, and have been dying {no pun intended} to do them again. The trick is finding the right tools; Ukrainian eggs need special tools, and I was only able to find them online. I bought mine from the Polish Art Center {of course} but there were a few other retailers to choose from….

thank you.

I can’t tell you how much it means to me that after sharing something so personal about myself, {the fact that I suffer from the most craptastic disease ever} that I had a huge outpouring of love and support from you. You, my awesome, fabulous, dipped in glitter readers. Seriously your comments, emails, and tweets over the last few days have brought me to tears. Social media is awesome, and hugely powerful, and your support and kindness has been phenomenal…

what it’s like to have Lupus.

Friends, I’ve been missing for a few days. Not because I don’t love you, or blogging, but because I’m having a hard time functioning right now. One of the best things about blogging {for me} is that no one can see when I’m sick, well, tired, happy, in my pajamas, in bed, or at my desk sipping {another} cold Diet Dr. Pepper. I can conceal when I’m not feeling up to snuff, which I kind of love because that’s pretty…

my new oven is made of pure awesome.

Let me tell you something awesome about my new Frigidaire oven. Aside from the fact that it’s made of pure fabulous, it can fit so much food inside it’s almost criminal. You see the arrow in the photo? That rack of the oven comes apart so I can technically cook a Thanksgiving turkey while cooking a handful of pumpkin pies on the side. Made of awesome? Yes please. I wrote this review while participating in a Test Drive Campaign by…

horatio hornblower series on A&E

Have you ever watched Horatio Hornblower? I may have. Once, or twice. It’s actually a whole series of DVD’s, so I have an excuse. I didn’t understand all the hubbub a few years ago when my friends were swooning over the T.V. series on A&E; but. Well. I‘ve seen the light. Horatio is noble, honest, and full of integrity. Also? He’s not hard to look at while he’s swasbuckles and kills pirates. I’ve also heard, via my many hours spent…

budget friendly tips for decorating a child’s bedroom.

A few weeks ago the boys were out of town, which translates to the fact that for a solid week, the house was clean and quiet. Very very quiet. I took advantage of the week in many ways, namely: sleep. I also took photos of Charming’s bedroom, which has not been this clean since he was too little to crawl and won’t be this clean again I’m sure, until he moves out. Which I don’t want to talk about. So,…

weekend plans.

What’s everyone doing this weekend? Viktor is back, so I’m trying to squeeze in some more sleep before he puts me to work in the kitchen remodel. He’s a slave driver that one. I’m also anxiously awaiting my version of the Super Bowl, the red carpet showdown before the Oscars. We don’t have a television, so I’m grateful the Fug Girls will be live blogging from the red carpet to keep me updated. Thank heaven for those Fug Girls, they…
