Bad Fashion Week Series Part 5:
Jumpers.
Of any kind.
The Hollywood populace at large is trying to resurrect the pantsuit jumpers of yesteryear, much to my chagrin.
There’s just nothing good about the jumper. Nothing.
I’m allowed to be judgmental here because I’ve owned more than my fair share of jumpers, both of the pant and dress variety. I lived in Utah in the 80’s and 90’s, there was no hope for me.
My very opinionated opinion on the matter is thussly: if you’re wearing the jumper you look like you’ve pretty much given up on life.
They’re all the rage in the polygamist communities, I’ll leave it at that.

Just the word jumper makes me shudder. saw way too many of them while shopping this weekend. These make NO ONE look good. Unless you are a mechanic, maybe.

I sewed a jumper in Home Ec class in middle school. It was pink and plaid, and we all thought our jumpers were cool. They were, right? :)
Not to mention the pesky issue of using the loo…
Ugh. The pantsuit rompers are particularly awful. Jessica Simpson is a repeat offender with those. They either give you a diaper bum or a camel toe. (Sorry)
Did you know that they recently changed the dress code for sister missionaries? When polled about the image of missionaries, people universally complimented the look of the elders but used terms like “home schooled” or “polygamist” for the sisters. Several even specifically mentioned the shapeless jumpers. FYI these were non-LDS people that they polled. Too funny, and so glad they made the change!

Those are hideous! I saw jumpers for little girls the other day at Target and almost threw up! Remember how hard it was to pee? No thanks!

I have always wanted to put on of these on just to see what is really going on, but my fear of something riding up my crotch or of simply looking like a complete idiot has always won out and I’ve never tried it on. Wonder what is going on that people keeping on insisting this is a cool trend?
