sun protection.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but at our house we spend the entire summer outdoors. Working in the garden, at the playground, in the sand at the beach, or in the pool. We go through bottles and bottles of sunscreen throughout the summer trying to stay protected from an ever thinning ozone layer, and we’re always looking for products to help us in this endeavor.

$14.99
ABC Chocolate Brown.
{via My First Shades}.

These sunglasses are fantastic for little kids who need eye protection but are so active that regular sunglasses just won’t cut it. They come in a variety of styles, to placate your picky fashionista or color picky kid, & they offer 100% UV Protection. And if you have a child like my 3-year-old C, you’ll be happy to note that both the frames and lenses are shatterproof. Thank heaven.

Solar Safe Wristbands.
$6.50 for 7.

{via
Sun Protection Zone}.

Sun Protection Zone offers a plethora of sun protection options, my favorite of which is the Solar Safe Sun Monitoring Wristband. My kids were totally excited to try these out on our recent beach expedition and I was thrilled to find they actually work. Wrap them around your child’s wrist before you head out into the sun and the band will change colors, monitoring the amount of sun exposure you’ve had and when it’s time to reapply sunscreen. So cool, & completely worth the money to prevent painful {& dangerous} sunburns throughout the hot summer months.
