decorating ideas for a kids room.

Megan, the genius behind Beach Bungalow 8 {one of my favorite daily reads} is redoing one of her kidlets bedrooms, and she posted some of her dreamy bedroom ideas on her site. The photo above is how the bedroom currently looks, {I love it!} below are a few photos of what she’d like it to look like.

What do you think? I’m in the process of picking paint color for my family room. Tan is far too boring for my taste and it’s time to switch it up a little. My current swatches are fun blues, greens and yellows. What do you like? What kind of decorating have you done in your home? Bold & daring, or do you keep it neutral? I’d love to hear!! I need some inspiration.

the people before us, did a yellow with deeper yellow/gold. they used a special roller that had a pattern on it. (i’m not describing it well, am i?)
anyways. i’m getting a little sick of it…’cause they had it everywhere! but i love the warmness and brightness of it in my living room.

    Hey Allison,

Love your site, saw the topic on kids and decorating and just had to jump on over. I also saw you’re interested in changing up some colors in your own decor.

You’re in luck- I’ll be posting some amazing yellow, blues, and green inspiration ideas on my site, http://www.kidsstuffworld.com , in the next few days as part of my Green Living Home project. Who knows maybe they’ll be just what you’re looking for.

i’m boring. it’s too hard to change the walls, in my opinion. my are brown-ish and i add color with other decorations. but my friend has darker yellow with black leather furniture that looks so great.

I am boring. I am afraid of color. I must have a surprise makeover t.v. show come to force me into it. pitiful.

I love color on the walls, but am always afraid I’ll get bored with it. I stick with neutral on the walls (although buttery yellows and sage-y greens can be great neutrals) and bring color in with accessories like blankets, pillows and artwork. Behr has some nice mellow greens at Home Depot
