cleaning tips.

Before I get to the good stuff, all the Christmas goodies I’ve been dying to share with you, I need to share a couple of cleaning tips. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I need to have the whole house clean before I decorate for Christmas. While I was cleaning yesterday I was thinking about all kinds of tips and tricks I’ve picked up over the years of my domestication and who better to share them with than you?

1. When switching loads of laundry I always take the used up fabric softener/dryer sheet and use it to clean out the lint trap on the dryer before I put a new load in to dry. I don’t know if it’s just the texture or the fact that the sheet still has a little static in it, but it works like a charm! Try it.

2. Stash fabric softener/dryer sheets all over the house to make it smell nice. I’m talking behind picture frames, behind plants, inside your husband’s stinky shoes, stashed in the coat closet, under your teenager’s bed. People will never know what you really have lurking in your house if you do this, I promise.

Now get to work and I’ll be back in a bit with the beginning of my Christmas guide!

I have dryer sheets stashed all over my little boy’s room. it was smelling weird and after a thorough cleaning that didn’t help, it was bounce to the rescue! Works like a charm.

  2. Noelle :

speaking of dryer sheets; if you have static cling on your person, just wipe down your legs if you don’t have a slip, or the slip, with the dryer sheet and TAH-DAH the dress/skirt/slacks will fall ever so lovely without sticking any more.

I, too, must have the house spic-n-span before decorating for christmas or cooking a big meal. I even had to clean between Thanksgiving dinner and dessert…glad I’m not alone. I keep a dryer sheet under the seat of my car.

works on staticky winter hair, too…

used dryer sheets are AWESOME to dust with! especially tvs. they don’t require chemicals on the TV and you get to use the dryer sheet for two things!!
