I’m going to start needing input pretty soon because frankly, I only have so many ideas up my sleeve about fitness, and I need your help!
Here’s today’s Thursday Fit Tip:
Put on your tennies, and the rest will follow
What I mean is that if I get dressed in my workout gear, I’m a little more motivated to get my workout out of the way so I can get showered and dressed and on with my day. If I put my tennies on, and lace them up I feel a little more accountable, especially if they’re accompanied by a sports bra. I know I’ll feel like a complete loser if I change out of my workout clothes without ever getting on the treadmill. Some days I spend the whole day in my workout clothes before I ever get around to actually exercising, but nine times out of ten when I do it this way, it gets done.

I love this idea, I’m going to try it next week. We’ll see how it goes.
My tip is accountability. I’m only accountable to myself really, but my husband knows my goals, and he knows if I work out or not..and then I’m embarrassed if I don’t. I also have a friend who only blogs on the days she works out–and she LOVES to blog–so that’s a real motivator!
You’re absolutely right, getting dressed in your gear is key. I also think having a really great, really short workout in your arsenal is key for those days you just don’t have time. My current fave is Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. It’s only about 20 minutes, but has great toning a bit of cardio. Then on those days when you have more time and motivation, you can hit the treadmill or head out for a run.
I am in no way qualified to give a tip as I signed up for your challenge and that is ALL I have done. I wish I could do all my exercising online.
stretching. once I’ve done some good stretching, my body is in move-mode and ready to go.
and of course, visualizing. I visualize myself thin and strong and it puts me in the right frame of mind to actually make that image reality.
I try to make it part of the routine with the kids. For example, get in the stroller with snack and drink every weekday to go pick up dad (works walking distance from home) and walk to the park. It is not the most hard-core workout but it keeps the kids occupied with the promise of the park at the end and it gets me out. Although living in SoCal helps. :)
I totally do this. If I wake up and put on my exercise clothes on right away, I’m more likely to actually exercise that day. It may not be until 8:00 at night, but it totally helps!
