A few weeks ago I started my garden and shared it with all of you here. Well, after the planting, and watering, and waiting comes the good stuff: the sprouting! Not all of my plants have sprouted, some of them need a little more time than others. That’s normal. Some creatures are just late bloomers; it happens.
But the early bloomers that have sprouted are spectacular. It’s quite encouraging to see the little green goodness that comes out of teeny, tiny seeds.
Pole Peas are kind of like the rock stars of the gardening world. They sprout early, tall, and proud and make the rest of the little seedlings feel a bit inferior. Rude. Pole Peas get really tall, gangly, & lanky very early on, but don’t worry the glory doesn’t last. They’ll start to fall over pretty soon so they’ve got some payback coming.
There’s still plenty of watch and wait ahead, at least here in Utah. I can’t put my plants into the ground for about another month unless I want them to die. Which I don’t, so I won’t. I do take them outside a little bit each day to acclimate in some sun and cooler temperatures. It helps them adjust to the outside world and gets them ready for the big move. I don’t want to scar them for life by throwing them out all at once, they need to warm up to the idea a little bit at a time. Kind of like preschoolers.
How cute! We planted a little garden in an old wagon last night. Last year was our first year to attempt seeds and it was beautiful. I’ll post when seedlings start to come up!
