In the wake of a devastating tragedy for a young mom in my neighborhood, I’ve witnessed true charity today. I’ve witnessed kindness and generosity, selfless and pure, extended by women in the community. By women who don’t even know this mother of 3 small children who lost her husband unexpectedly last night. It has warmed my heart to see how people come together full of love and support and acts of service. It has given me renewed faith in the true goodness of people, and in the remarkable power of that true goodness. There is such power and happiness in being kind. Give it a try.

Oh Kimberly, I’m so sorry. The same thing happened in my neighborhood when my friend lost her son in the Fall. It was the worst thing in the world, but it made me feel true love and service from people everywhere.

People are basically good. We just get wrapped up in life and forget to look around at what others need oftentimes. Tragedies always bring out the best in people and I couldn’t believe all the love and kindness shown to my family last year when we had a horrible tragedy. People are basically good and I don’t care what anyone else says.
