Summer drinks to refresh!!
I love summer and the warm sun!! Last month we looked at water intake, so this month lets look at some other ways to increase your fluid intake. Nothing beats a cold glass of ice water, but often I find clients get a little tired of just water. You may find that adding a lemon wedge adds some flavor, or getting the small ice chips. You may want to add some flavor to your water or perhaps try some of these refreshing summer drink recipes.
Watermelon Cooler
4 cups watermelon chunks(no seeds)
1 cup ice
the juice of half a lime
Blend until smooth. You can try a variety of fruits. I also love strawberries, honeydew, cantaloupe, and fresh pineapple(add a little coconut too).
Blackberry Cream Delight
2 cups blackberries
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 vanilla soy milk or vanilla almond milk
options- 1/2 a banana and you can switch out the blackberries to any other berry
just blend all together and enjoy. If you want it creamier just add ice. ( I am in Oregon visiting family and we have made this drink just about every day! So many blackberries to eat!!)
Kiwi Strawberry Juice
3 kiwi’s pealed
2 cups strawberries
1 cup ice
Blend and enjoy!
YUM!
but i would opt for those golden kiwis (a la blogher) on the last one. aaaand i wrote about that today. funny how life works like that :)
I don't know which one to make first, the blackberry cream, kiwi, or watermelon!
these sound fantastic. Gotta try that watermelon drink asap!
