This week’s Petit Elefant Quote of the Week is from the poet Theodore Roethke.
(If you’re just getting started, we’re on week 6 of the new inspiring quote series. If you’re interested in catching up, here are links to week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4, week 5 and week 6 of the Petit Elefant Quote of the Week.)
This week’s quote, isn’t just a Quote of the Week, it’s also part of Shot@Life’s Blogust 2015—a month-long blog relay—where some of North America’s most beloved online writers, photo and video bloggers and Shot@Life Champions will come together and share inspirational quotes for their children. Every time you comment on this post and other Blogust contributions, or take action using the social media on this website, Shot@Life and the United Nations Foundation pages, one vaccine will be donated to a child around the world (up to 50,000).
So please, pretty please, comment, share, take social media action, and help us reach 50,000 vaccines. Last year I asked for your help on behalf of my sick daughter Sofie. Not only did you help raise money for a record number of vaccines, you lifted up my heart in a tricky time of my life. I’m happy to report that Sofie is doing much better than last summer, and my hope is that in sharing this, I can pass that hope and love onto other children who have no medical care available to them and who literally die every day across the globe without lifesaving vaccines. Use @ShotAtLife and #Blogust in all your social media shares.
THANK YOU in advance. And thank you for all you do, for being a part of this community, for being a conscientious human on this planet we share. Truly, I adore you.

Yes! Love it. xo
Your quote reminds me of the gripping true movie, “The Impossible,” about a Spanish lady M.D.’s family surviving the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand. It shows the importance of caring which Shot@Life is all about, too!
TFS!

Writing a comment is not that hard or impossible — and does so much good!!
Totally!
Funny how the impossible can become reality with a little belief in ourselves and others.
So glad to be with you on this #blogust journey, my friend. xo

Thanks for participating!
This quote is fantastic. Happy Blogust!
Happy Blogust to you!
I totally agree, we’d have a lot fewer impossible things in the world if people would challenge the idea of its impossibility. What is the Lewis Carroll quote? “Try and do 3 impossible things a day.”?
I like that, I didn’t know that one yet, thanks for sharing!
Strangely, I encountered this quote for the forts time very recently – maybe the universe is trying to say something!
