A daily routine has become a thing for me, in the last 6 months. We all do some of the same stuff daily, like go to work, drop kids off at school or daycare, or even a daily trip to the gym. But I’ve been working really, really, super hard on having almost the same routine every single day, including weekends. Because what I realized in all my actively-getting-healthier business is that routine, simple daily routine, makes my life a happier place to be.
Do you remember about a month ago when I started the 28 day clean face challenge with Burt’s Bees? I started the challenge by doing the same things I was already doing every day like exercising, drinking 2-3 gallons of water, meditating / reading my scriptures, and going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning. But what I wasn’t doing consistently was washing my face every morning and night, and going through a regular skin care routine, and it’s SO IMPORTANT to do that, especially when you’re just shy of 40 years old (but also, ALWAYS).

So for the last month, I’ve started every day the same way: washing my face with Burt’s Bees (very light exfoliating) renewal cleanser, gently tapping some smoothing eye cream underneath both eyes, patting a tiny bit of firming serum all over my face and neck and then finishing off with some sunscreen in the morning or some firming night cream at night. And what I’ve discovered is this: I like a morning and night skin routine. A lot. Because it feels to me like in the morning I’m preparing my face for the day, with the armor of wrinkle prevention serums and sunscreen lotion. And at night, like I’m removing the toxins of the day and replacing them with soothing, reparative night cream (my favorite product of all) as I head to bed to rest + recover from life.
Does that make any sense?
Have you always had a skincare routine? Maybe I’m super late to the game of a consistent daily routine, a skincare routine, and consistent exercising, but man it feels so good. I’m totally loving it.
My skin is too. It feels more protected, more nourished + nurtured, more moisturized. All of those are super good, productive, happy things.

So what about you? Do you have a consistent daily routine? What about a skincare routine? I can’t help but feel I’m a late bloomer when it comes to finding the right fit for a healthy daily beauty regime. Am I?
Heaven help us all.
I’d love to know if you do have a routine, and if so, what it is. Seriously, please share!

I don’t have a routine! I need one and I want to do this one! Your skin looks amazing even next to super-young Sofie skin!! I’m going to get it.
