Sunglasses and Getting the Right Style

With spring in full force, it’s time to break out your sunglasses. Unfortunately, not all sunglasses are created equal. What I mean is, there are certain styles that work better for certain occasions. For instance, you wouldn’t wear your playful retro sunnies to an outdoor wedding ceremony, nor would you wear your seven dollar aviators on your way to an interview. So today we’re going to break down the world of sunglasses so you’ll never have to wonder, “Do these work?” again.

For everyday:

Your everyday shades are the pair of sunnies that fit your face perfectly and give off a more casual vibe. For my oval shape face, aviators are my go-to. You can wear them while running errands, out to brunch, or at a BBQ. They’re your versatile pair that you carry with you at all times. You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of Ray Ban Aviators!

For trendy get togethers:

Wearing your new maxi skirt or getting dolled up for a pool party? Now’s the time to break out your fun pair of shades. Go for a retro shape or something with color or texture. These Madewell sunglasses are my must-haves for outdoor get togethers and music festivals!

For dressy occasions:

When you’re wearing a nice dress or a sleek suit, your everyday shades just don’t cut it. Go for something a bit more elegant, like a classic black pair with thick, defined rims. The simple shape and color won’t distract from your dressy look. These square Warby Parker shades fit my oval face, but you could also go for a subtle cateye or diamond shape.

How many sunglasses do you own and how many do you actually wear?
