One of my favorite people ever, and that’s not even overstating it a little, Joy the Baker wrote a book.

Oh Joy. Oh, Joy.
Isn’t she a babe? Like, straight up authentically gorgeous.

I met Joy at a Jennifer Garner event last Fall. I didn’t know anything about her, she was the only blogger at the event I’d never met, and she was hysterical. She was behind me in a Q + A session with a chef and I was asking really stupid basic questions, in all earnestness. No one laughed at me, and if anyone had a right to laugh it would be Joy.
Girlfriend can coooooook.
But she didn’t make fun of me; no Joy the Baker sat behind me and made the most dry, hysterical, under-her-breath-comments while we filmed the segment and I tried failed to suppress my giggle snort. {it’s a thing} We exchanged twitter handles and I was like, yeah yeah keep in touch and all that; I asked her why she wasn’t staying at the hotel where the rest of us bunked and she explained patiently that she was from L.A. and had to get home because she does a podcast. My slow, slow brain thought, ‘Oh! My sweet friend Tsh does a podcast! Neat!’ but I still didn’t connect any dots.
I’m quick on my feet like that.
Anyway, I came home and checked out Joy’s blog, Joy the Baker, and almost exploded with happy. Joy is a kindred spirit, a super cool table kid, very funny, very smart, very relatable, very girl next door.

More importantly, I told Precocious about Joy the Baker and her HomeFries podcast. Miss Precocious listens to NPR podcasts while she hangs out and does homework, so I thought a cooking podcast would be right up her alley.
Precocious fell in love with Joy and Tracy immediately, and started coming in at night after she was supposed to be asleep to share snippets of the show. So I gave their show a listen and I died a little. Joy and Tracy make magic together, and Precocious has two new hero role models she completely worships; I couldn’t be happier about it.
If my baby girl grows up to be anything like Joy and Tracy, my work here is done.

This is all sort of here and there and not really the point. The point is that Joy Wilson, Joy the glorious Joy, wrote a cookbook and it. is. amazing.
Amazing.
I die.

Do you see this caramel sauce? It has a place in my future, even though my future is vegan and very sugar-free. That’s just how persuasive and delicious Joy’s recipes are; you’ve been warned:
tasty business ahead.

You can, and must, and will pick up a copy of Joy’s book on Amazon, or Barnes & Noble {I want a copy for my Nook reader so I can read it on the road}.
Big fat congratulations to my girl Joy, who lives in L.A. and has a podcast. And now, a book.
p.s. if you want to feel really good about life, and maybe cry a little {shut up, it’s adorable. and I cry sometimes} watch this great little snippet: Meet Joy.

I am IN LOVE with this book – and I almost just wrote “Dude” before that because I was actually listening to the Joy the Baker podcast in the car on my way to work. The book is gorgeous. That caramel sauce picture? My 21 month old son licked it. No lie. Joy is a total rockstar – you are dead on about that, for sure.
Tracy + Joy are the bomb, right? Your son has it figured out, *I* almost licked the page too!
roasted citrus, changed my winter life. :)
Precocious should check out wire tap podcasts, they are a fave at our house.
Oh I need to roast some citrus! Been meaning to. Checking out wire tap podcasts! Thank you.
Joy is fabulous!! I had the opportunity to take a cooking class with her. She is beautiful and talented. I can ‘t wait to get my hands on the cookbook!
Oh how fun would it be to cook with Joy? I would die. And seriously, buy the cookbook now, it’s CHEAP and amazing.
