I ran across this article in New York Magazine about Michelle Obama’s style since she’s been in the spotlight. Personal politics aside, this woman has some serious style.
I had a hard time choosing a favorite outfit {don’t I always?} but I love the belted look she seems to favor.
Also? Even it doesn’t seem like an oddity for us mere mortals recycle outfits twice a week, Michelle is doing the same thing, and I love her for it.

she seems v. cool. had to laugh this morning on the way to work, i heard our Prime Minister announcing a visit to Oz by obama, and he was so typical aussie and added 'and i'm pretty sure that michelle and the kids are coming too, so that's great!'. made me laugh, sounded like we were having the neighbours over for a bbq

I agree! She has impeccable taste! And she dresses so well for her shape! She has killer arms and legs so she shows those off but she's a little curvier in the hips and she's cognizant of that, too! Love "that Michelle"!
I love how she dresses with an emphasis on the feminine. No hideous pantsuits. It's been a long time since we've had a first lady who looks so pretty.
She does have great style. I would lobe her wardrobe… but I'd probably need her body first.
She is a beautiful woman with incredible style.
after looking at these pictures, I've realized that Mrs. Obama and I have the same type of figure – small chested with a "sturdier base". I think I'll take some cues from her dressing and invest in some cute belts to take the eye off what's missing up top. :)
I also love that her figure is more "realistic" – compared to those of supermodels – and she can still make anything look good!
I totally agree, I love that you willsee the same outfits and accessories mixed and matched! I love the way she layers.
oh she does, she does have excellent style.
I think some of the outfits shown here are great and some are terrible. I am happy that she wears flats but some are weird….
She DOES have great style! I especially like how she isn't afraid to wear bright colors. I'd like to have some of that same boldness.
P.S. She looks wonderful in green and yellow.

She does have style! Not necessarily expensive, but very elegant. And youre right, she does mix and match her outfits! :) Happy tuesday!
she has some great clothes! anyone know what kind of shoes is she wearing on her feet in the pic with the white dress? they are oddly intriguing.
I heart Michelle Obama. She's a great role model for today's woman and mom. Stylish, opinionated, well-spoken, smart, hands-on parenting, involved in her family's line of work, public-service oriented, and FINALLY a woman with feet as big as mine! LOVE HER!
Here's what I love: she has an awareness of her own body, how to dress it and how to flatter, but mixes it with a little sizzle. J'adore.
I concur with Pieface, she is all of those things but more importantly she is beautiful, intelligent, and approachable. Her sense of style is impeccable and she knows what flatters her figure! She works out every morning and is health conscious! I HEART her and I am glad to say that she is our FIRST LADY!
Wow, she's a vixen!
No doubt she wears some amazing clothes, but I have to wonder…Does she have great style or a great stylist?
I want that green dress! And I love ruffles poking out from underneath a cardigan.
ZING! That's the sound of me stealing that idea!
Thanks for the inspiration…again!
She has lovely style!

:-) Lots of great ideas.
I also love her platform as first lady: supporting military families, tackling childhood obesity. Wonderful.
