Would you like to know what I’m using on vacation to do my laundry, over and over and over again? Soap Nuts. Never heard of them? They’re amazing. Soap Nuts are the actual fruit of trees found in India, Indonesia, and Nepal and they clean your clothes without any preservatives, which is fantastic for a person like me who happens to be allergic to everything known to man. My kids are too, so I’m always on the hunt for detergents…

I’m rather excited about the goodies I’ve found over at imagine childhood. What a grand collection of gadgets and what-nots for creating, playing and learning in the great outdoors. All inspired by a simpler way of living. Perfect whether you live on the edge of the wilderness like I do, or whether you travel a ways to see the stars, or whether your wilderness exists in your living room. tree blocks, $27.95 I like the earthy, organic look and round shapes…

ItzaBitza computer game.
My kids are enthralled with this new computer game. ItzaBitza is a clever computer game that incorporates your children’s own drawings into the fun. Don’t be fooled by the hokey graphics, this game is a total win with my kids. They fight over whose turn it is to create a little world of their own, and the game has gotten superb accolades from the best in the business. Your child helps the characters {aka Sketchies} by providing them with “new…

travel candles.
Paddywax Travel Tin {2 oz. $5} Paddywax was another of my Mom 2.0 sponsors, and I love them, I really honestly do. Paddywax candles offer a little air of sophistication to your candle burning. I’m the type of person that always has a candle burning, no matter what the season and it’s fun for me to try different candles once in a while. I’m partial to the Blood Orange, but it’s a tough competition between that and the Cucumber Grapefruit….

Ode to Ikea
Who says money can’t buy you happiness? I say it can. And not only that, but if you shop at Ikea, you can buy happiness for cheap! Hooray! Mike, Little O, and I took a trip to Ikea last week. It was supposed to be an in-and-out sort of deal that lasts only 20 minutes, but how is that even possible? Ikea is my Disneyland. We went in for a frame and for fabric. I have been craving a change…

Trip updates (with videos)
Hello. We finally got a few moments to gather our thoughts and dirty laundry and I started to look through and download some videos that we took on our Flip. First of all, let me tell you how cool this Flip thing really is. I know that there has been a whole lot of much-to-do about sponsored blog posting and the FCC, etc. But this one is from the heart (although we did get one to check out and review…

road trip through napa valley, California
On our way from Lake Berryessa to San Francisco we drove through Napa, and yes it really is that beautiful. We don’t drink so it didn’t hold quite the luster it might have for you connoisseurs of wine, but the drive is gorgeous. I hear the right time of year is in the Fall when the grapes are all out in their glory. It probably smells amazing then too. But it was absolutely perfect for us in June. Next time…

houseboating in napa valley.
We started out our three week adventure down the coast of California with a bit of a *bump* but now we’re well on our way and having the time of our lives. Our first stop after Reno {which I’m not counting; we were there less than 8 hrs.} was Lake Berryessa in Napa Valley, California. I had no idea there even was a lake in Napa before this vacation, but there is and it’s beautiful. Lake Berryessa has apparently been…
