P is out for Spring Break and it’s inevitable that my husband will pounce a camping trip on me in 3…2…1… Having been married to him for almost 10 years I’ve learned to expect last minute trips and have become quite adept at packing the entire family for a trip in a couple of hours. I’m not a pro, but this is a short list {10 years in the making} of packing tips that have saved a lot of marital…

hair clips.

P is notoriously picky about her hair. She stopped letting me style her hair when she was 2 years-old and still hasn’t let me back in her hair “circle of trust”. We’ve gone through some awkward stages {the unicorn ponytail swaying down into the middle of her forehead was a particularly interesting time} but as she’s gotten older her hair styling has gotten better and better. P recently tried these big girl hair clips from taia and has fallen in…

kalencom.

The above photo of C {my 3-year-old} on our most recent road trip is exactly why the Seatbelt Snoozer from Kalencom is such a brilliant find. It’s inexpensive {$13}, easily straps on with Velcro {thus easy to remove}, and will eliminate crooked little necks while you road trip away. I think I need one. Seatbelt Snoozer.$13.{via Kalencom}.

p’kolino.

P’kolino’s Little Reader. $95. I love everything from P’kolino’s line of children’s furniture. It’s evident that the two founders of the company are both fathers as the pieces are streamlined, simple, & child friendly at the same time. The Little Reader chair is a perfect example of P’kolino’s marriage of form & function: the size and shape of the chair is perfect for a toddler, while the lightweight foam {covered in stain repellent faux-suede} can handle some rough and tumble….

james baigrie photography.

I love the work of James Baigrie, a ridiculously talented photographer originally hailing from Cape Town, South Africa {currently transplanted to Brooklyn, New York}. His work has appeared in many of my favorite publications including Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, & Condé Nast Traveler {just to name a few}. His photography of children, travel, and Africa is breathtaking; I highly recommend browsing his portfolios. Below are some of my favorite shots from his travel portfolio.
