growth chart.

Growth Chart. {Box measures 7.25″ x 7.25″ x 2.75″}. $40. I think Miss Natalie is onto something here. These growth charts {from her Etsy shop Miss Natalie} are the perfect solution for the transition years between apartment living and permanent home dwelling. I used the not-so-original idea of measuring P’s growth on a two-by-four before we moved to our home. Not cute. It served it’s purpose, but without any aesthetic appeal. I wish I’d had one of these. Packaged in…

tru kid.

Happy Face and Body Lotion.$8.{via TruKid}. My kids really love TruKid bath & body products {o.k., I use them too and the Bubbly Body Bar is my personal favorite}. And don’t be fooled by the bright packaging, this is seriously organic stuff that smells like citrus heaven. TruKid is completely dedicated to using only certified organic ingredients and if you’re curious just what those are, all their ingredients are listed right on the packaging. No more wondering what is going…

building a children’s library.

I was sorting through my children’s books the other day trying to weed out the irrelevant, no longer loved, and damaged books when I realized, we own a lot of books. A lot. I spent a lot of time accumulating children’s books for P when she was little, most of which have been passed on to C. As I sorted through the books I noticed a large portion of them weren’t new when they entered our home, and most of…

magic tree house

Stage Fright on a Summer Night. {via Amazon}. $3.99 P loves Mary Pope Osborne, the author of the fabulous series Magic Tree House. Osborne has written 38 {and counting} historical fiction books for early readers covering topics like the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 {Earthquake in the Early Morning} and William Shakespeare {Stage Fright on a Summer Night}. As a mom I love them because they are full of strong female role models, the stories are engrossing {for both of…

recipe for the perfect classic cannoli.

Just looking at this photo makes me hungry. I’m not sure I’ve ever had Classic Cannoli, but now I have to make some. If you’ve tried this recipe or have an amazing one of your own, let me know I’d love to hear about it. Here’s Martha’s recipe for the true Italian version. {photo via Martha Stewart Living}.

beautiful belly after baby.

I loved reading this article about your body after having a baby. Maybe I’m reading too many magazines because sometimes I get discouraged looking at celebrities looking slim and toned shortly after giving birth. I schlepped around in pajama bottoms for weeks after both of my babies were born, and it took me close to a year to get my body back {both times}. Check out the article on babycenter, for a realistic perspective on your {beautiful} body by baby….
