living green.

For some time we’ve had a list of green living projects to do, and this sumer we checked two off the list: a successful vegetable garden an outdoor clothesline. The garden was smooth sailing. We started out with some fail-safe plants: carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and pole peas, all of which produced a bountiful crop throughout the summer. Next year we’ll add even more to the garden; I’m thinking broccoli, cauliflower, rhubarb, cucumbers. Any other ideas? Crispy. Crunchy. Deliciousness. Fresh. Juicy….

Mike and I felt we deserved a trip to IKEA last week to celebrate the news that we’re having a baby boy. Really, any reason is a good reason to go to IKEA. Look at these cool teething toys from the etsy shop Little Alouette. They’re made from Maple wood so they’re 100% natural for your baby to chew on, and the teethers are filled with brown rice to keep your little one entertained while they munch. I always gave my babies frozen bagels, which worked great until they bit off chunks of bagels and tried to choke themselves. Wood is better, much better. bare naked ladies album for kids.

I’ve been a fan of the Bare Naked Ladies for a long time. The band, of course. Not actual naked ladies. Upbeat tunes, clean and witty lyrics, music with great personality in general. The talented band members are now parents and, inspired by their own offspring, have created a CD for kids.
